turpentine and eyes

DMSO would carry turpentine into the eyeball in this situation, i'm

reasonably certain. This is based on my experience using it along with

Vitamin E oil for a back problem a few years ago.

I'm presently racking my brain trying to figure out what would work for

this. But i will be off line until late tomorrow night.

I would not get any of this into the eye. If there are roundworms at any

stage of life inside the eyeball might this kill them off? Anybody know if

this procedure would hurt anything? Thanks. pj ps No one ever

suffered any ill effects from the few drops of turpentine used for worming.

I would have heard as all such news travelled remarkably quickly.

Shirley,

I got this off the CDC site regarding roundworms:

There are two major forms of toxocariasis:

1) Ocular larva migrans (OLM):

Toxocara infections can cause OLM, an eye disease that can cause blindness. OLM occurs when a microscopic worm enters the eye; it may cause inflammation and formation of a scar on the retina. Each year more than 700 people infected with Toxocara experience permanent partial loss of vision.

2) Visceral larva migrans (VLM):

Heavier, or repeated Toxocara infections, while rare, can cause VLM, a disease that causes swelling of the body’s organs or central nervous system. Symptoms of VLM, which are caused by the movement of the worms through the body, include fever, coughing, asthma, or pneumonia.

They go on to talk more about it but my question is do you think or have you talked to an eye specialist? I only ask because if you kill the worms in your eye you have the possibility of going blind? The CDC says if it gets to the eyes it is rather serious...(not to scare you) but... If you see a specialist you could find out what treatment he suggests and then find the herbs to use or coincide with... Sometimes you need a specialist - i.e. like broken bones, etc... or even call the CDC for an opinion of treatment.... Just my opinion.

Dear PJ,

You should have my earlier post on this.

The problem is that DMSO will permeate and carry anything with it anywhere. You can put a drop of the stuff on your big toe and taste it in your mouth in about 15 seconds. It will permeate bone cells, the cell wall of the eye and even the brain. It is also imperative that you use Pharmaceutical Grade USP DMSO when you do use it as the usual store bought stuff is stored in plastic which it will eventually dissolve over a period of time.

DMSO is a wonder, and there should be some great articles on it in the files. It just happens to be one of those "goodies" that you shouldn't play with tooooo much unless you know what you're doing ;o) A little bit of DMSO goes a long way. One of my patients just had a tremendous success using it in conjunction with other herbs and dissolved a tumor which was inoperable and on his spinal cord. A tremendous biochemical agent, but one of those where you should look before you leap LOL.

Love,

[herbal remedies] turpentine and eyes

Re the turp and the eyes-----what I had in mind was to smear a drop of turpentine around the eye being careful to avoid getting it into the eye itself.
