Guest guest
Hi -- I'm new, so hello to everyone here. Always nice to find a place to get ideas and exchange information. Speaking of which, a couple of things struck me in reading through today's digest, if you all don't mind me jumping right in. I spent much of my life in that same desert plateau which includes Arizona along with much of the SouthWestern US and central Mexico. You might have luck with growing arid-loving herbs like rosemary, thyme, oregano, and those that are traditionally grown around the Mediterranean in general. Bay should do well, Echinacea, and even Ephedra. You can probably raise as much aloe as you can stand to have around and, if you look into the local native "weeds", shrubs and cacti, you'll find that there are medicinal uses for many of them. Good luck to you! Growing up in Mexico meant coping with parasites and parasitic infections. Worms were kept at bay through the use of Wormseed (or Epazote) in black beans -- apparently it's highly toxic to all forms of worms and intestinal parasites, with the exception of tapeworm. (Add a sprig to the bean pot during the last 20 minutes or so of cooking for authentic Mexican flavor and aroma.) Another useful anti-intenstinal-parasite herb is Elecampane and, to an extent, Basil is, too. Incidentally, I've found Wormseed growing wild as far north as Upstate New York, and as far south as the Yucatan Peninsula. Guest guest
I juice daily as well. The BEST juicer would be the Norwalk Juicer. Expensive but lifelong. http://norwalkjuicers.com/ I WANT TO EXPRESS THAT GETTING ALL OF DR. NORMAN WALKERS BOOKS ARE BENEFICIAL TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF JUICING, NUTRITION AND HEALTH. WORTH THE $50. FOR ALL THE BOOKS!!! Too pricey then I might suggest the Champion Juicer. http://discountjuicers.com/ http://discountjuicers.com/champion.html ^j^ane
