Guest guest
Dr. McCain who runs www.herbalhealer.com is being personally sued by the Attorney General in Arkansas on some trumped up charges. If anyone has any good ideas or recommendations to help her please write her at: herbalhealerinc She runs a reputable company and has some great information there. I would hate to see the forces of stupidity win here.
Guest guest
I don't know of any Naturopath that agrees 100% with any another, but I would fight for his (or her) right to practise. This is very serious guys and I recommend to all of you who are so inclined to offer whatever support you can. If they win here, you can bet that may be you'll be next, or me, or ... This is a threat to all herbalists and to the practice of natural healing. Guest guest
Dear Lisa, Sorry for not informing you and the other moderators on this - I'm a bad boy here ;o), but I had already approved this topic due to the seriousness of this threat. There should be an earlier post by me where I answered up on this. I may not agree with all of Dr. McCain's activities or policies though I'd say his (or her) heart is in the right place, and I would normally jump on anyone myself who "advertised" on list, but this threat can not be overlooked and Dr. McCain needs our support here. Unless supported, this could be the beginning of the end of Naturopathy here in the US. Guest guest
In a civil suit, there are no " charges " as such. There may or may not be a statement that there was criminal activity. Civil suits are more concerned with liability for having done something that hurt someone. Therefore, this particular suit would be a very nasty ploy by the Attorney General of Arkansas. They can't charge the doctor with a crime, so they go this route, where the burden of proof is much looser. And even if the A.G. loses the suit, they have punished the doctor through sheer harrassment. I've worked as a legal secretary a few times, and picked up a few things. But don't ever try to use me for actual legal advice!
