Guest guest
Hi Patie, I'd put the dog is put him/her on a NATURAL, homemade, allergy elimination diet -- because it's quite likely that his suffering is due to allergies. I believe they start with brown rice and lamb for about 3 weeks, and then slowly add other ingredients one at a time. A good BARF email list can probably advise your friend on this. This may be all that's needed to bring the dog back into health. If not, then for cough and asthma, the following herbs were listed on a dog site I visited, as being helpful for cough/asthma: Anemarrhena Apricot seed Azolla imbricata Baical skullcap root Colts foot flower Fritillaria bulb Gypsum Licorrice root rhizome Perilla leaf Pinellia rhizome Root of the ballon flower Trifoliate orange For allergies, they listed: Baical Skullcap root Centipeda herb Cocklebur fruit Condonopsis root Ledebouriella root Licorice root Magnolia flower I just put " herbs asthma dogs " in Google and came up with that. Good luck to your friend.
