Guest guest
Hi Elizabeth.... Not sure what anyone else will say to this (I'm replying to the digest so you might already have an answer!) Anyhow, I remember my grandfather having a copy of a famer's almanac-style wall calender when I was a kid and he swore by it. We've even experimented with the theory about planting trees while the moon was waxing vs. it waning and have seen great success in following this. You can go the Old Farmer's Almanac at www.almanac.com and see lots of info. online. They even have a planting schedule at http://www.almanac.com/garden/plantingtable02.html This is great info. here. So glad to see it online and not have to hunt for it in an actual book. Current moon data is at http://www.almanac.com/cgi-bin/heaven.pl?mooninput=current And as for when to harvest, I always pick things either early in the morning before the sun hits hard or at dusk. Things picked during the heat of the day just seem tired. <g> Hope this helps! Melissa " A Proper Tea is much nicer than a Very Nearly Tea, which is one you forget about afterwards.
