Guest guest
Brandy, I would think so. I know lots of people who take it for all kinds of artho.... however, I have found (with my father) what works on me may not work on you.... just like "meds" - When we were working with his BP... we tried so many herbs and some helped some and others did nothing - now we seem to be on a roll with him on everything... I would try the MSM - I imagine your neighbor will see a change if she takes its faithfully. If after say a month she sees no improvement then go to another - this is what I did with my dad.... She wants to work and take classes so she can move out on her own but she has osteoarthritis, mainly in her hips, and is considering going on disability. She is still relatively young, early 50's and a shining personality. She is trying to lose some weight to help but walking can be very painful somedays.Thank you,Brandy
Guest guest
Weight loss is certainly very important. If walking is difficult she can try work outs in a pool. I always recommend using a lifejacket or noodle and walking or running in the deep end. this allows for a very aerobic workout with out impact. MSM is generally consided more for antinflamation. You can combine it with glucosomine and chodrotine (sp)- shark cartilage. this combo if it works tends to take at least 6 months to take effect. If price is not to big an issue I think one of the better supplements is SAm-e this is good for bones and tendons as well as a positive effect for the mind and stress, but it is a bit pricey to take long term. Acupuncture is very good for the pain and inflamation associated with osteo and some of the herb formulas can help slow or stop the progression of the disease depending on the chinese diagnosis. From a TCM perspective it can be any number of causes but tends to focus on Kidney qi or yang. bob --- Suzanne Nottmeier <suziesgoats wrote: > > Brandy, > I would think so. Guest guest
on dosage start at 1000 3x/day try that for 2-3weeks then up it 500mg every week until you see an effect or get a sulfur taste in the mouth. I understood 3k 3x per day about max. My guess is if you need more than that good bet it ain't gonna work for ya. b --- javaboley <boleybrandy wrote: > herbal remedies, Bob Linde > <bob_and_robin> wrote: > > Weight loss is certainly very important.
