Guest guest
Though there is quite a bit of stuff on Rense's site that can be passed off as fiction, this one is very easy to believe. The prescription drug companies don't want you taking herbal remedies, no matter how much they help. They would sooner have you take their unsafe products, all in the name of $$$$. Look what's happened to Kava. The initial reports were that Kava caused liver damage in some people. What they failed to focus on is that there were OTHER factors with hese liver damage cases, such as poor liver function in the first place as well as mixing the Kava wth Alcohol. Because of half truths, Kava is now banned in Germany and the UK is o the verge of also doing so. I'm afraid it will happen here as well. So many more people die every day from prescription and even over the counter meds. It's pathetic. And when you stop to think that we ave a so called " war on drugs " in this coutry, the whole thing is a friggin joke!.................. herbal remedies, " keeweedaly " <keeweedaly> wrote: > Hello all! > > Not sure if this is legit or not, right now it concerns Brittain but > who knows where it will go. It's just another money-grab from the big drug companies, is all. The thought of making herbs illegal is ludicrous, isn't it? And to think that it's happening! Next thing we know, they're going to rope off Nature and forbid our entrance. Tar and feathers comes to mind... Melinda
Guest guest
All, Can I just say here that the notion of making herbs illegal may in fact be incorrect terminology. In IRELAND our Medicines Board (on foot of a European Directive) arew giving us an opportunity to make herbs LEGAL. Can you believe it. If you look closer at the pre-conditions you will be horrified with what is proposed. Herbs will be legally licenceable (spelling ?) if made to pharmaceutical standard, have a history of "traditional" use for the last 30 years (only !), made/extracted by a licenced manufacturer......... If we can afford to do this (mega $$$$) we will be allowed to be legal, otherwise, within 2 years get out of the business. Guest guest
Ian, I'm assuming you are talking about the CODEX laws that will come into effect for Europe in 2004? I am in the middle of becoming a nutritionist and herbalist (in Italy), and I am trying to understand exactly what CODEX will mean for people who use their own preparations in practice. Or the small time herbalists who have 2 room labs and a store front. Will they be able to sell herbals still or will some or all herbs only be available by prescription? If they legally can stay in business, will they be able to afford becoming " licensed " . Will they be willing to change their formulas to adhere to the standard? Woe is me. Legally will there be any such profession as (non-pharmaceutical) herbalism anymore? You are currently in practice correct? Would you mind discussing how some of these things will effect the way you do business? Also are you aware of any political avenue for changing this CODEX crap? In the end I plan on developing wellness plans based as much as possible on non herbal foods, superfoods, diet and cleansing therapies. I think herbalists will be forced to stick to teaching the client how to make their own medicines at home (or will homes be raided as well?!). Either way there is going to be big trouble because I don't think people will stand for it when they keep getting sicker and sicker and find it harder and harder to find altneratives. best to you and thanks thessa herbal remedies, " zota herbal clinic " <zota@i...> wrote: > All, > > Can I just say here that the notion of making herbs illegal may in fact be incorrect terminology.
