Guest guest
Hi All....I am making a calendula oil and wonder how long I should leave the herb soaking in the oil...It's been 2 weeks now...Is that long enough? I put some vit. e in the oil to act as a preservative...Is that OK? Also, I have a bottle of jojoba oil and would like to turn it into a cream...how do I go about this? I know I would use beeswax and a liquid of some kind but I'm not sure about measurements and because jojoba is so expensive I don't want to mess up....Please help

St. John's wort is a wonderful pain reliever; i'd not use it in soap but save it for topical application calendula infused is wonderful for soap.. you could infuse dried chamomile also... the traditional oil for infusing is olive oil... but I'd be tempted to go with fractionated coconut oil for the longer shelf life. Calendula is wonderful for bumps and bruises, and has a wide variety of healing attributes- good all around medicine cabinet oil- mixed with SJW it is excellent Arnica is lovely for bruises- but dont use it on broken skin... Plantain, Self Heal, Dandelion flowers- so many " weeds " make great infused oil... > the traditional oil for infusing is olive oil... but I'd be tempted to go > with fractionated coconut oil for the longer shelf life. Id stick with the olive oil- and maybe add a bit of jojoba if you want a longer shelf life than olive oil- I have a four year old calendula oil made in olive oil that is still just fine...just store them in a cool place away from direct sunlight...
