Guest guest
Sow thistle is of the Aster family, there is prickly sow-thistle (Sonchus asper), common sow-thistle (Sonchus oleraceus), and perennial sow-thistle (S. arvensis). The young leaves of sow-thistles can be eaten raw in salads or cooked as a vegetable. To me the sow-thistles look more like a cross between a dandelion and thistle but unlike true thistles, sow-thistle has a milky latex. I don't know of any thing that talks about it being dangerous and causing infections though. But I have not researched it that extensively. Below are three pics of the three different forms. - sturn herbal remedies Wednesday, July 24, 2002 9:55 AM Re: [herbal remedies] cowthistle i was told cow thistle but perhaps it is sow thistle. something about its being dangerous and causing infections. sue - Donald Eitner herbal remedies Tuesday, July 23, 2002 6:54 PM Re: [herbal remedies] cowthistle cow thistle or sow thistle? - sturn herbal remedies Tuesday, July 23, 2002 2:11 PM Re: [herbal remedies] cowthistle does anyone know anything about cowthistle? sue - herbal remedies Health - Feel better, live betterhttp://health.Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1.
