Guest guest
Congratulations Sara!!! There is a recipe in the files for cabbage juice for probiotics or if you have a source of raw milk, you can make whey. Good luck, Ann I still want to go buy probiotics, perhaps more than ever, but I have no experience with them, and I was wondering if anyone can offer advice on which brand or type is better for those of us with a bun in? *lolol*
Guest guest
Thanks so much for the info. I am finishing my round of antibiotics for this UTI, but all the alternative info will come in super handy in the future, I know it. Also...and it is prophetic that I was checking this email address when I got the call and found this out...I'M PREGNANT! Holy spawn, Batman! Needless to say, I'm ecstatic (for those of you who don't know, I had an ovary removed and a nasty miscarriage a year back, and have been worried about not being able to conceive). I still want to go buy probiotics, perhaps more than ever, but I have no experience with them, and I was wondering if anyone can offer advice on which brand or type is better for those of us with a bun in? *lolol* Thanks and Wheee! --Sara Thustra >Bob wrote: >Antibiotics are >very effective in killing bacteria, this is good and >bad. Guest guest
First and foremost, big congratulations to you, Sara! It seems that many people have great success using HMF Replete probiotic. If your intestinal lining is in good shape you can probably handle it without a problem. However, for me, I found it to be a bit, actually a lot too strong. Lately I've been taking HMF Forte capsules by Genestra Human Microflora and having great success. I'm no expert on pregnancy interaction, however, so I'll leave advice on that to the others! Take care! Ann --- Sara Thustra <tv_is_a_drug wrote: > Thanks so much for the info. Guest guest
Congrats Sara, That is where the Udo's comes in I found them to be a good company. In general I look at a brand that must be kept in the fridge. I saw that some one suggested the freezer, I'd go with what is suggested on the bottle for that one. I noticed a few folks offered some other methods, cabbage/dairy. From a TCM perspective (my training)These foods may not be helpful to you if you have had problems with a pregnancy in the past. Often times these difficultlies are caused by (this is chinese med consepts)cold or damp (other things as can be as well) Cabbage is a very cold energy food and dairy damp....big thought is go to a good practitioner with a proven track record that may understand multible modalities. With a baby on the way you do want to be careful with what herbs and such you take in. Leslie Tierra has a great book on babies and herbs. TCM in general is good to help with morning sickness and Tui Na massage with newborns. I believe there is another book out there as well for moms to be and herbs but the name escapes my. good luck with way to much advice and info... bob --- Sara Thustra <tv_is_a_drug wrote: > Thanks so much for the info. Guest guest
And it won't have any weird effects on my pregnancy, Doc? (Other than that I don't know how my tummy will like cabbage juice, but I'll worry about that later!)
