Hi All:

I know that Dr. Bronner's does not use organically grown herbs, but I would

like to know if anybody knows how

to make this from scratch, using my own organic mints. I wish this were a

certified Organic product but it is

not. I love this scent, also. The label says that it is made of: Water,

saponified Coconut-Hemp-Olive Oils (with

retained Glycerin), Olive fatty acids, Peppermint Oil, Rosemary extract. Does

anyone know how to make it?

Thanks,

Skippy

Make soap with the ingredients you desire (organic oils and herbs) is the question how to make soap there are many urls to explain this in detail! I make herbal soaps and struggle with ingredients and the end results. Essential oils and not the herbs (Peppermint) are generally used in most (not mine ). Dose anyone know of an organic source for these! I use what I feel is a good source but am not sure.

I make a Bear soap for the locals here its you guessed it made from bear fat! There are many hunters of bear and last year one group killed 33 of them! I would imagine this source is the cleanest (un touched by man) but still animal and not everyone's thing.

I am vary excited about this group and just finished lessoning to the tape you sent me Doc. Thank you so much for sharing! I will be sending you a thank you gift! (want some of that bear soap)

Yes, it is a fairly easy process to make soap, but it sure would be easier to

show you. Have you made soap before or know someone where you are that makes

soap? Most anyone that makes their own soap would probably do this for you.

Go to your public library and check out soapmaking books or go to the store

and look at them. Patty in Oregon

Wow, Bear soap?! Sounds marvelous. Do you sell this stuff? I use

Dr. Bronners and really love it. Have tried to make soap and failed

miserably, but hate store stuff. Too chemically and slimy! Any

URL's you recommend?

Thanks,

The site that I found most helpful when first learning to make my own

soap is http://users.silverlink.net/~timer/soapinfo.html Well done

and a wonderful site for a beginner or someone that already makes

their own.

Thanks,

Helen in TN.

Trinity Herbs in California has a great selection of organic oils -- they aren't online, though. They have a site, but it's only to order the catalog. They have a great customer service department and any questions you might have are quickly answered. Hope this helps. I signed up for a class at the local leisure center but they didn't

have enough participants so they cancelled it. I have checked out

books and even bought one, but they have intimidated me more than

before, the lye part makes me really nervous and they stress that

quite a bit. You should put out a video! Anything on the web like

that?

Dear Justine,

Perhaps you could do a series of articles on the list. This would be great data and especially the ones on "How to whup up a batch in the Kitchen sink" kinda articles. I'd love to post the articles in the files in the "How to" section.

Love,
