Guest guest
Hello to All. My name is Ingrid, and I'm new to the list, which BTW, looks fantastic!. I have a problem which concerns 'restless legs'. My sister is six months pregnant, and is suffering from restless legs at night. I wondered if you could recommend something herbal, which is of course safe to use during pregnancy. She is also very tired, and I suspect that if it's not because of the restless legs/not sleeping well, then it may be a vitamin deficency of some sort. Is there some sort of tonic you could recommend for her?. Many Thanks for any and all help!. I am hoping to learn lots here ) Ingrid. Guest guest
Hi There: My daughter has a condition called periodic leg movement. She had a sleep study done and it was found that she had sleep apnea (she stopped breathing often in sleep), which apparently caused it. When the doctor ordered oxygen, the leg movements returned to normal. Guest guest
Had occasion to mention this a couple of days ago, but here it is again. The classic pregnancy herbs are raspberry leaf and nettle. A tea made of these works well in our experience. And it is great iced in the summer. Many other herbs, including some spices, are not safe. Among the unsafe spices would be basil -- and some also would put rosemary and oregano in that category. Vitamins are very important. There are many good prenatal formulas available. B6 is one of the most important, but i always advocate taking a number of vitamins because most foods are deficient in most vitamins these days. In general restless legs are connected to the B vitamins.
