Guest guest
Dear Melinda, What a wonderful idea. GOLF!!!! I haven't played it in years, and therefore I now feel I've been neglecting part of my "Doctor's Hat" by not doing so. LOL See you on the green!!! ;o) Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - iris054 herbal remedies Wednesday, July 03, 2002 1:51 AM [herbal remedies] Re: Carpel Tunnel/Doc > Has anyone else checked into the exercise approach???Interesting post, Doc! My son was rear-ended on the freeway a couple of years ago and it left him with shoulder problems. He's discovered that golfing does wonders for it. When I get cramped up between the shoulder blades from too much computer work, pulling weeds for awhile seems to do me a lot of good. I think you're definitely onto something! :)Melinda
Guest guest
Here is my .02 cents worth. I believe that any relaxing or mind numbing change from the work that caused the muscle aching or cramping is the key. I have found that just going outside and grooming the horses or weeding the garden or even chopping wood is relaxing. I don't necessarily believe it is the form of exercise that helps the condition but the change in atmosphere and the change in mental work that is the key which is why golfing or gardening or just talking to your pets or animals seems to have some relief. And yes I consider chopping wood relaxing at least to the mind. You can do all the wrist, arm, shoulder exercises you want but if that's all your doing and your mind is still angry, upset, or working on solving a problem then the muscles, tendons and such will stay stiff and unyielding. Well maybe a couple of doses of Panther Piss thrown in there for good measure.... Patricia
Guest guest
Sometimes i do data entry work in my attempts to survive. Ever since about 1980, many systems have keystroke counters. People who do this are expected to do so many keystrokes per hour, or else. I had one job in 1983 where i was told " accuracy is much more important than speed " . About half the originals to be entered were completely illegible. So i had to keep calling on the supervisor. After the first week, i was fired for not being fast enough. That's the kind of stuff that goes on out there. Many companies have moved their data entry operations offshore, especially to the Caribbean islands. The poor women who work in these electronic sweatshops are not even allowed to visit the bathroom most of each day. They are constantly monitored by video. They have to keep up their speed, or else they will be sent back to their villages to die of starvation. Most of the big credit card companies do things this way -- another reason to avoid patronizing them. On Sun, 7 Jul 2002 23:37:56 -0600 Patricia <phoward wrote: Here is my .02 cents worth.
