There is a child at our church that has a health issue ongoing for

about a month now. It started (and this may or may not be related)

with her throwing up and a temp that went away and came back a week

later. The temperature is now gone (I think the highest it got was

103) but toward the end of it she started loosing the use of her leg.

Now the pain is increasing and they cannot find anything wrong with

her.

We are thinking Lyme disease or something similar but the doctors are

saying no. They put her on antibiotics but there was no bacteria

showing in her body. They have run bone scans and such and nothing is

coming up. She has had several spells of passing out.

Does any of this ring a bell to anyone because the doctors and

everyone here are clueless.

This is strange. If they can't find bacteria (but the idiots give

antibiotics anyway) then the cause should be either viral or fungal. BTW

these symptoms can be created by a variety of strep bacteria. Viruses are

first identified by symptoms, but these are not aligning with anything known

at the moment, except perhaps polio. Was this child immunized for polio?

Why have the doctors not considered this? Or have they?

The fungal possibilities are rare but endless. Fungus infections can cause

a variety of symptoms, and the particular symptom profile will vary with

each individual -- pretty much the opposite pattern from viruses. It is my

belief that aspergillus could create these symptoms. That's a rare and

especially nasty mold that can infest a house.

In any event somebody who has the expertise should go to the house and take

swabs of every funny-looking coating on everything, especially anything

black. These samples should be properly packed and sent off to a testing

laboratory. There are several in different parts of the country; i keep

their addresses on hand in a database. I would be willing to bet that there

is some kind of exotic mold growing somewhere in the house, given this set

of circumstances. But the testing needs to be done, immediately.

Some of the possibilities are determined by what part of the country you're in.

There are ways to culture and analyze for viruses, but i'm not really

familiar with the techniques.

Treating internal fungus infections is very difficult, especially from the

conventional medical standpoint. Other discussions on this list have

touched on some of the necessary techniques.

I thought the same about the strep but the mom said

they tested for it. They gave antibiotics just in case

I think or maybe because they do not have a clue. I

will let her know about the mold idea. some one else

suggested polio also.

You can go to and it will bring up

your groups. There is a way to adjust your setting

for this group to no mail. You will still be

d but will get no mail. I am not sure what

else to do till someone else comes around. Lynn
