Low production of stomach acid

Hello everyone,

I am trying this question again, since I

sent the previous one without a proper

subject line... if I got any responses

I missed them...

I am seeking high and low and everywhere

to an answer for this problem.

I do not produce stomach acid. I currently

supplement with Thorne's HCl with every meal,

but what I really would like is for my own

acid production to kick in. I have been this

way (diagnosed) for years, and who knows how

long all in all...

I believe the most reasonable explanation I have

heard to date is that my body became so acidic,

that I stopped producing stomach acid because my

body was getting the message " enough acid already! " .

Does this mean that if I could get my body into

an alkaline state, my stomach acid production

would also normalize - or not?

If anyone has any personal experiences with this,

especially if it was a long standing state of

being for you, I would really appreciate hearing

your input on this. My N.D. tells me that about

50% of people start producing the acid on their

own after supplementing with HCl, but this has

not happened for me.

Also, will it be readily apparent to me when I

start producing my own acid? It may seem like

a stupid question... but I don't know how I'd know,

when/if I would need to stop the HCl supplementation.

Or would I need to re-test?

Thanks so much in advance,

Boel

Dear Boel,

I would try Chinese herbs. There are two kinds, herbs that stimulate

and herbs that nourish. You seem to need the herbs that nourish your

digestive area to do the job its supposed to do. Do a search at

www.google.com or your favorite search engine and look up " digestion

chinese herbs " .

I don't have any particular recommendations but I think you'll get

better results by doing this to improve your digestion rather than

just " taking " things in hopes of improvement. It's a concept of

wholeness rather than a piecemeal approach to the body.
