Guest guest
Laura - single people in Arizona (without kids) are eligible for Access (which is Medicaid in Michigan). Look in the phone book for social services and it will list Access. Check with them to see if you are eligible for Social Security Disability based on your medical problems. (in Michigan this is called SSI). If you do go back to Michigan and are NOT eligible for Medicaid you will be eligible for State Medical. The local social services office there will help you with this. You are eligible for food stamps in both states. You are not eligible for cash assistance as you do not have children. Why are you going back to Michigan? In Arizona (regardless of if you are on Access or not) you are able to see the same Doctors and receive the same care as those who have " regular " insurance. In Michigan (and I love Michigan) you are not able to see the same quality of Doctor as those who have " regular " insurance. This is not the Doctors fault - it is the social service system in Michigan. Guest guest
Laura: I understand why you are moving back to Michigan - it wasn't my intention to infer that you were makng a bad choice. I am so sorry you are loosing your house - that must be very hard on you in addition to your health problems. Please do look at my answer regarding health insurance in Michigan. I lived in Michigan for many many years and am familiar with the insurance and health system there. I moved to Arizona two years ago. Best of luck to you and keep us posted (we all will move with you - don't you just love the computer!) Guest guest
I work for a nutritional counselor in southeast Michigan. If you are interested, you could contact him. It could possibly be toxic heavy metal overload. He does hair analysis.
