Guest guest
Melba Dagan reminded us of the wisdom of Adelle Davis, who recommended Lecithin to fight heart blockages. That makes such perfect sense. It is a fat emulsifier. Side effect: you will feed your brain. I remember Adelle recommending Lecithin as the ultimate brain food. That's what I love about natural medicine. Usually the side effects are a bonus benefit. Thanks for the reminder, I am going to get some. Guest guest
Hi, Speaking of Lecithin, my dad was convinced he cured his cholesterol problem, chest pains, and future heart problems (diagnosed at the Mayo clinic) by taking a Lecithin Vit E Complex. He was faithful to it all of his life, along with alfalfa, Vit C and diet. He died many years later and from a work related exposure to a toxin. In some reading I've done somewhere, it stressed to use the granual type of Lecithin, because it takes more than capsules can give without taking many capsules. They recommended granular and looking for non GE Lecithin, as I guess many of the Lecithin products are from GE sources. Anybody else heard that? Anyway, wouldn't you know, I bought capsules before I read this. My aunt had the Adele Davis books, and I used to read them when I was a girl. Some of what she recommended I bet is still, right in there! I remember Adele saying Lecithin was great for the brain! Something we don't hear too often anymore. There is so much info out there, that it gets confusing. Adele recommended cod liver oil too, and I've started that for my heart problem and the Vit D in it hopefully will help my depression. It has the Omega 3's, which we need, as we get plenty of Omega 6 and 9. My Dr. did say to take straight Niacin for my heart and other sources say it's just as good as a statin, and most research says it should be the flushing kind. Some people take red rice yeast, but if will have the same effects as a statin drug, as it's a natural statin. There is a group called Supplements for the Heart on that has some good info. I also take Nattokinase, but I'm out of it right now, along with the rest of the Vit basics.
