Hi . . .

My name is Jo'Ann, I live in Northern Georgia. I was in an almost fatal auto

accident in 1987 and have short term memory loss. I still have a lot of pain

and have a hard time retaining info. or I really think that I would love to

go to college to learn more about Natural/homeopathic Medicine. Thanx for

allowing me onto this list. I love everything I am learning so far & So

many of you seem to have such good advice. Thanx to you all!!

I have a question:

For the past few years, I have had a terrible time with bloating in my

stomach, I have gained approx. 50 lbs. and I am tired ALL the time. My Dr.

has told me that the trouble is that I am manic depressant. - I am almost

always happy. Anyway . . . 3 weeks ago I had a (supposed) Severe Gall Stone

attack.

(LONG story short - The emergency Dr. told my husband to take me home & make

an appointment with our Regular Dr. as " This is a Hospital and we do not run

tests for Gall Stones, do CBC's or anything. Your Dr. will have to diagnose

you. " - This man also did not look at my allergy wrist band, my files or ask

any questions about my allergies and tried to give me Demeral (Stops my

heart!!) & then Codeine (Makes me violently ill!!) My husband - Thank-God -

Asked what he was trying to give me before he gave me either shot. - AFter

my Husband warned the Dr. that I am highly allergic to both pain medications

he turned around and gave my husband 8 pills for me to take if needed when

we got home and a prescription for 30 more pills. - It was for Codeine!! --

E-Gads!!)

Anyway . . .

I have always heard of someone " writhing in pain " , I never realized just

what that meant until I had this attack. I have since, had three more bad

attacks. What I am wondering is this: Is there anything homeopathic that I

can take to dissolve these stones?? (My Liver enzymes are very elevated & I

have a sinus infection that feels as if it is working down into my lungs.)

If you need that info. - Also because my Regular Dr. Diagnosed me as " Manic

Depressed " we are having an extremely hard time finding ANYONE to give us

any type of Health Ins.

Thank-You for ANY help you might be able to offer me.

Take Care & God Bless!!

Hugs & Prayers Always . . .

Jo'Ann

Hi JoAnn, I seem to be going back to the old health

books in my library this week to find help for others.

I went into he Encyclopedia of Common Diseases

published by Prevention magazine as well as other old

books and found some interesting information for you.

Gallstones are made up of crystallized cholesterol. In

order to disolve them you must take lecithin (granular

is best), vitamin C and plenty of natural vegetable

fiber. I am convinced that if people would only

increase their Vitamin C intake to at least 10,000 mg.

per day many common ailments would disappear or at

least be dramatically reduced. It is vital to every

cell in your body. Everyone needs to increase their

fiber intake also. And, I cannot overstress the

necessity to include a healthy dose of lecithin in

your diet every day. Lecithin is an absolute must for

a healthy brain and proper assmiliation of fats in

your diet.

Lowering your cholesterol intake (i.e. the low fat

diet recommended today for a healthy heart) seems to

increase dramatically the formation of gallstones.

Now, I know that sounds strange but I remembered that

calcium spurs that develop on backbones or heels are

also caused by a calcium deficiency, not too much

calcium in the body. The body tries to pull calcium

from the bones for use in the muscles and brain and

this leaves spurs clinging to the bone. So perhaps the

lack of cholesterol in the diet causes the body to try

to save it by crystallizing it.

Since Vitamin C, lecithin and fiber have no bad side

effects, you should generously add them to your daily

diet to begin dissolving the gallstones. And, to help

your manic depressive episodes, you need to take each

day a balanced B vitamin supplement of at least 150mg

(usually marked as Balanced B-150) along with calming

herbs such as kava kava or valerian. You also need to

take at least 1 ounce of a good colloidal mineral

supplement daily (liquid minerals). Learning

meditation would help you to control your panic

feelings and calm your spirit.

As to cost, the B vitamins, C, and fiber are cheap and

can be bought at WalMart or any store that carries

vitamins. The herbs can be purchased there also and

are relatively inexpensive (usually less than $10-15

per bottle.) The colloidal minerals can be purchased

at a health food store or online and run about $20-30

per bottle, but they are absolutely essential for

health and the proper assimilation of your food and

supplements. Granular lecithin is about $6.00 a bag at

your health food store. Our food source is so depleted

of what we need to remain healthy that we are forced

to buy the supplements in order to just live a healthy

life.

The fiber will at first seem to make your bloating

worse, but after your system is cleaned out a bit you

will find the bloating reduced. You may also find

yourself losing weight.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! When you go to the bathroom to

evacuate your bowels and bladder you must put a step

stool under your feet so that your body is more

postured in a squatting position as you sit on the

commode. That is the natural way to eliminate (before

we got so civilized) and it aids the body to

completely empty the bowel and bladder without you

having to strain or put pressure on your lower colon

and rectum. Cleaning your bowel will give you

consideral relief from the bloating and pain.

I hope these suggestions help you recover. Regaining

health is a life long commitment. Taking care with

your daily diet and including the essential minerals

and vitamins take dedication. But, the reward is a

healthy body and mind and a life full of energy and

enthusiasm instead of misery. I wish you blessings and

health. Melba

Jo'Ann: Welcome to the group. I just posted a message tonight

regarding insurance - it should get to you on or around the same day

this message does. Please read it and look into it. I think the

problem you are having is that you have several problems going on

here and you need a primary physician to refer you to individual

specialists. Many Primary care Drs. these days (because of THEIR

insurance coverage) will not deal with the patient who has medical

problems but also exhibits depression or mental health issues until

the patient sees a mental health professional and they know exactly

what part the depression or mental health problems play in your

medical problems. Sounds confusing - but - your fatigue and weight

gain,as just one example, MAY be a part of the depression and not a

physical problem. A medical Dr. does not want to treat you for the

fatigue etc. if it is related to the depression and not actually

a " medical " problem. Nor do you want him to! This is actually a good

thing - it protects you AND the Doctor. At the risk of insulting this

board, you most likely need a mental health doctor to deal with your

manic depression and (I believe) a neurologist to sort out what part

your auto accident plays into your other problems AND your primary

care physician. Hopefully they will all work together as one problem

is related to the other. Talk to them all about alternative options

to help you rather than prescription meds. Ask about bio-feedback for

controling the manic depression, a " tens unit " for pain, alternative

medications and therapy methods in resolving the gallstones.

Eventually you and your husband may be able to educate yourselves to

the point where you learn the alternative methods that work best for

you and you are able to maintain an alternative lifestyle. Your

husband sounds very loving and concerned - have him read this and

help you help yourself. This is a wealth of information everyday from

this board. You will learn so much. So glad you joined the group.

Thanx so much for writing.

Sorry, but I did not find any message for me about health insurance.

I honestly have a " fair " Doctor, he is very " rough around the edges, but

fair.

As for Depression or mental health issues, I have had 27 friends and family

member DIE in the past 5 years. I do not feel that I haven't any right to be

a wee bit depressed. Therefor I am quite upset that my " good Doctor " wrote

in his files that I am " Manic Depressant " . I personally feel that ANY person

who has lost so much in such a short time would certainly be depressed. Also

I have seen a " Mental Health Specialist/Psychiatrist " and he said that I am

Not manic Depressant and that I am fine. I have only been through a lot more

than most people over the past few years and so I just need some counseling

which I got and do have access to at any time I need it.

Re: a neurologist to sort out what part your auto accident plays into your

other problems.

My auto accident was in 1987. I broke my neck and had other severe injuries.

I still have trouble with neck, upper back pain and I still do not have

complete control of my left side. My Neurologist released me some time back

in 1989. I have seen a Neurologist since then and he says there is really

nothing they can do about my pain, It is something I just have to live with.

I see a Chiropractor 2 and 3 times a month, depending on my pain. Some

months I can go without seeing him at all.

methods that work best for you and you are able to maintain an alternative

lifestyle.

As for talking with my Primary Doctor about Natural Health, he would put me

into a " nut house " (Please forgive my use of words). He does Not believe in

Natural Medicine at all. He thinks that everything has to be fixed with

Pharmaceutical's!! " Homeopathic's are all Kooks!! " <-- HIS words not mine.

My Chiropractor helps me a lot as far as Homeopathic help. He always gives

me great suggestions and is looking into a Homeopathic Doctor for me to see

that is hopefully close to home. (I have got to find Health Insurance

coverage first tho as if " someone " diagnoses me with " something " , Insurance

may not cover it. Woo-Hoo!! What a mess.

Your husband sounds very loving and concerned - have him read this and

help you help yourself. This is a wealth of information everyday from

this board. You will learn so much. So glad you joined the group.

My husband, Ron . . . Is an extremely loving, concerned and gentle person.

He is always by my side, unconditionally. He is the best thing in my life

right now. (Besides our Kids & Grand-kids. I appreciate your writing to me.

I don't know if you know tho, but I have been diagnosed with Gall Stones, my

Liver enzymes are much to high. (I had Mono in 1973 and have always had to

be very careful with my liver anyway.) I have a hard time sleeping due to a

lot of pain in a lot of area's of my body. Especially my neck & upper back.

And I stiil have a huge amount of pain from fracturing both shins and my

right ankle in 2002. (It hurts to even touch my shin's - even after 4 years

)

My Doctor says that " I am Nut's, my shins and ankle do Not hurt, he says

they were just badly bruised not fractured!! "

The Xray Technician said differently & so did the Doctor at the Hospital who

read the xray's. -- Who know's??

I have also had a lot of pain in my dueodinal area (supposed ulcer??)

imeadiately after having been exposed to a large amount of Nitrobid in a

Hosptial in Oregon in late 2003 and had to be admitted for two days. (Off

and on) For going on one year now -- I have a lot of pain in my colon. I was

perscribed 2 different laxatives and I am still VERY lucky if I can deficate

ONE time a week.

Now I am having excruciating pain from Gall Stones. (I never knew what it

meant to " Writhe in pain " ) until 6 weeks ago and I have now had 5 attacks.

I would rather have someone cut me open while wide awake and no anestecia

(happened in 1977 & 1987) than go through this Gall bladder pain. It hurts

from front to back and from shoulders to buttox.

Did you read that when I went into the Hospital that the emergency Doctor on

staff that night did NOT read my allergy wrist band or my files and tried to

give me a shot of Demeral (which I am so allergic to it stops my heart.)

When my husband told him, he appologized, left and came back a few minutes

later with 8 pills of Codiene (which makes me violently ill) and gave me a

perscription to take to the Pharmacy for more.

I need to " Shut up " for now. I am not a huge fan of Medical Doctors right

now tho. " Just so's ya know's " .

Take Care & God Bless!!

Prayers Always . . .

hi, just a spiritual input.

even a mild fender bender car accident can cause depression. the subtle

bodies can become disturbed and literally displaced. the subtle bodies can be

put back through prayer sometimes, but most effectively by an energy healer such

as someone trained in reconnection, or a shaman, or someone trained by donna

eden, or karuna reiki. best bet is someone with a long list of education

credits in healing techniques.

it should only take one session, maybe two.

plus it feels sooooooooo good!

good luck,

aria
