Hi Everyone!

My name is Dana and I've been a member for a while, but hadn't posted in some

time. My first question is about my husband. Heis 49 yrs. old and has had

partial seizures since he was learning to walk. He had an unusual seizure

Thursday, Oct 12th which left him confused and unable to function mentally and

he was in the hospital for 5 days.

They diagnosed him as having AVM-Arterio-venous Malformation and said it was

the cause of his seizures. They also wanted to do brain surgery, but thank God

his regular neurologist said no to surgery unless there was an emergency.

Have any of the holistic practitioners heard of this rare birth defect, or

have any suggestions for natural things to do to help him. He is almost 95%

himself again, with a little confusion or lack of ability to concentrate or

remember once in awhile.

Also, I am looking into becoming a holistic practitioner. I will be going

through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. I am considering 4

schools-Clayton College, Austrailasian, American Institute of Holistic

Theology, and University of Natural Health. Do any of you know about these

schools? I know that Vocational Rehab. approves Austrailasian, but anyone know

about the others? How hard is it to set up a practice? Does it take a huge

amount of personal money at first?

We're on a fixed income right now and I don't have any money on the side to

put a lot into this.

Well, sorry this was so long. Thanks so much!

As I understand it, an AVM is a bunch of overgrown blood vessels in the

brain that have weak walls and can burst and cause brain damage. I am

unaware of any alternative treatments.
