Guest guest
According to the American Cancer Society, in 2006 about 41,430 people will die from breast cancer in the United States (40,970 women, 460 men). Breast cancer accounts for about 0.22% (two tenths of a percent) of cancer deaths among men. The number of breast cancer cases relative to the population has been increasing in the last 20 years mainly due to increased use of mammography. - Breast thermography is a diagnostic procedure that images the breast to aid in the early detection of breast cancer without using harmful radiation. - By carefully examining changes in the temperature and blood vessels of the breasts, signs of possible cancer or pre-cancerous cell growth may be detected up to 10 years prior to being discovered using any other procedure. - State-of-the-art breast thermography uses ultra-sensitive infrared cameras and sophisticated computers to detect, analyze, and produce high-resolution diagnostic images of these temperature and vascular changes. - In 1982, the FDA approved breast thermography as an adjunctive diagnostic breast cancer screening procedure.
