BACKGROUND

Trichome Healing Caregivers, the first collective to serve patients

in the San Fernando Valley, was raided by the DEA on August 30,

2006, without a warrant.

When an undercover agent tried to register without appropriate

documentation, security realized the fake-patient had a radio and

gun. The agent was asked to identify himself but instead called

into his radio " please don't hurt me. " Nearly ten other agents

kicked in the front door. The collective originally thought they

being robbed.

Staff was held at gunpoint and security was detained for 11 hours

without food, water or access to counsel. There were no arrests but

all medicine, cash, computers and records were seized. The LAPD had

to be called to the scene to insure the safety the detainees and

appeared not to know that the DEA was conducting business in LA.

Los Angeles City Council stated before its recess that regulations

were on the way.

Therefore, the DEA need to go on its way!
