Guest guest
I have a son, 11 years old. He is a Bipolar-schizophrenic. He has been on so many medications and we had finally found a combination that works for him, well it did until this summer. His doctor has told me that they can not up his doses because he is maxed out already. I am in search of Alternative forms of healing for him. I want to detoxify his system but I am afraid that it will cause more problems for him if we do that. I would also like to give him other medications, ones that will not harm him like what he is on now. He cant go outside for long, only 20 min. at a time. He has had heart trouble already from medications he has been on. I have spoken to his doctor about what I would like to do and he tells me that its not a good idea. They tell me it would cause more trouble then its worth and that nothing is proven to work for my sons situation. I don't believe that at all. I would be interested in alternative forms that people here have use and worked for their child. Info on my son: He is 11 years old, 148lbs and 5'11. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. Guest guest
Dear Ann, That must be one of the most hellish things for a parent to have to live with. I am glad you are looking into wholistic ways to help your child. Have you explored the whole allergies issue? It is amazing how many people become different persons when they stop using wheat and/or milk. There is a ton of information on the website of my dear friend Dr Phil Bate. I love his e-book with stories about people who were mentally ill getting better through nutrition and allergy treatment. The format is a bit primitive but the stories are worth it. Dr Phil Bate is no relation to TV Dr Phil, and I have no financial interest in his work. Dr Phil may still be looking for volunteers for his latest heal-while-you-sleep subliminal program. Explore the website. http://drbate.com For the detox: you might want to look into the ionic footbath that we were talking about a little while ago. I understand that it is gentler than doing bowel cleanses etc. http://www.holisticmidlifewoman.com/index_files/Page480.htm Anything you can do to help his liver metabolize the drugs on an ongoing basis is good. There are many good herbals on the market. Extra nutrition: have you seen http://truehope.com ? You might want to add the cell-wall removed version of AFA, to provide the extra uplift of PEA. That's short for phenylethylamine, the same substance that makes chocolate a feel-good thing. AFA is Klamath Lake bluegreen algae, which has been one of my favorite substances for almost 10 years. It can have profound effects on mood, For more info on this click here and hit send: afa Oh, last but least, TAP on him, or on his behalf. Emotional Freedom Technique is amazing, and had helped many. I am too sleepy to go dig through the site now, just go to http://emofree.com Hope some of this is helpful, Best wishes Ien in the Kootenays http://profiles./free_green_living
Guest guest
Hello! We have this in our family too! Lots of real love, patience, kindness and real understanding. A calm, peaceful stable life. No fussing or fighting in front of child as much as possible. No scarry movies. Regular bed times, regular meal time with good nutritious well balanced meals. Whole grains, whole foods, nothing out of a box. Real breakfast, again, nothing out of a box. Vitamins-has blood test ever been done to see if lacking anything important? Supplement with good vitamin Routine is of utmost importance. Very sensitive child, picks up on other peoples energies and thinks it is their own, highly intelligent! And regular exercise-on a team, or actually going to work out, a class of some sort. And of course quiet time, teach them to meditate, to calm, get a cd of their choice, sounds of nature, the ocean, new age music, yoga, tai chi. These things have to be done everyday, all day long. ANd the whole family usually needs to do some of these things for theirselves too! Guest guest
In my opinion, for a situation like this I would find a good doctor of naturopathy that is local to you. There will be a need to address nutritional deficiencies as well as detoxification and it will be necessary to work around all the medications he is taking. I think you will need to take your son to see someone who you can work with you on an ongoing basis to restore his health.
