October 29th, Sunday, 1:00 – 4:30 PM Zen Taoist Postures & Tantien Breathing workshop with Michael T. Kotur This workshop covers a series of postures that when practiced in a specific order opens all the meridians and releases blocked energy which activates our body's self-healing abilities and deepens our spiritual experience. Every participant will receive a hand-out of the postures. This series of postures has been formulated by Venerable Hyunoong Sunim, a Korean Zen and Taoist Master who combines the wisdom of Buddhism, Taoism and . Master Sunim is the founder of the Sixth Patriarch Zen Center in the San Francisco Bay area and has recently founded the Sixth Patriarch Zen Center in Seoul, South Korea. Michael T. Taught to a variety of upbeat and fun music, this class is suitable for those seeking either a mild or vigorous workout. Synergy Yoga/Dance – KIDS and Adult Class with Anjali, KIDS Class: Mondays, 4:30 - 5:45 PM starting 9/11/06. The kids class alternates teachers every 4 weeks between Anjali Brannon & Marcia Pittman. Adult Class: Thursdays, 5:45 - 7:00 PM. A unique blend of yoga and world dance, Synergy Dance arises from the energetic health system of Polarity Therapy and Ayurveda. Marcia is a long-time dance & fitness educator with experience working with all ages & special populations. She currently teaches for the Sinclair Dance Department. Latin Aerobics with Dawn Quigley, Tuesdays, 8:00 – 9:00 PM thru 9/5/06. Wednesdays, 8:00 – 9:00 PM starting 9/13/06 through October. Then Dawn moves to New York!! Dawn is a long-time dancer/choreographer/teacher. She is Director of the Sinclair Dance Ensemble and teaches at various locations throughout the Dayton area. She brings her knowledge of Latin dances like Salsa, Merengue, and Haitian dance into a fun, aerobic workout! This class is suitable for those seeking either a mild or vigorous workout. Prenatal Yoga with Amy Chavez: Thursdays, 7:15-8:30 PM This is a gentle yoga practice to facilitate a healthy transition into motherhood. Preparing the body, mind, and spirit for an optimal birth experience, while offering a supportive environment to grow and learn. No previous yoga experience is necessary; all moms- to-be are welcome. Amy is a labor doula, certified childbirth educator, licensed massage therapist, and wholebirth prenatal yoga instructor. Qi Gong with Michael Kotur, Saturdays, 9:30 – 11:30 AM (next class August 26 and then every other Saturday) Michael is currently in Korea doing advanced studies with his master. He will be back for the September class. The August class will be taught by Sharon Gavlick who is one of his senior students and a great teacher also. Qi Gong is a practice of naturalness. The body naturalizes through structural principles, the breath naturalizes via the awareness of mind. It evolves into a movement art through tai chi. The body regains health as the organs are liberated to function like a very young person. The practice is gentle and can be done by anyone. Michael has over 17 years experience in martial and healing arts including karate, yoga, chi gong, tai chi and the Taoist esoteric arts.
