RE: Restless Leg Syndrome and IBS

Even if the stools are loose

you may still have accumulated waste in the colon. And having IBS, colon

issues are definitely present. I would work to resolve the colon issues

and you could also try supplementing your diet with magnesium.

Some think restless leg syndrome could be caused by food allergies as

well as stress. Some other supplements to try are folic acid, evening

primose oil, black currant oil and borage oil, B vitamins, and Vitamin

E.

To address the IBS if there are any foods in particular you are

sensitive to I would remove those from your diet (at least temporarily

until your issue is resolved), take digestive enzymes to enhance

digestion, build up the healthy bacteria in your colon by taking a

probiotic supplement, and I can also recommend a particular fiber

supplement made for people that suffer from IBS. If you'd like more

information, please feel free to e-mail me. I would work on the IBS and

see if this resolves the RLS.

I have a further question on this topic. I have both restless leg syndrome

(severe case) as well as IBS. I do not have the kind of IBS that alternates

between constipation and loose stools but the latter all of the time. I have

tried fiber treatment and have had no success. If the leg issue is related to a

sluggish colon what would cause it in my case?

Restless Leg Syndrome. For the last week and a half, this has been keeping me

from getting much needed sleep. Plus, I get very irritable and the pain from

fibro and having my knee replaced, is so much worse. I know there is a drug for

it but I am already on so many prescriptions, that I just do not want anymore.
