practioner question

Hi! I am new here and have a question about CAM practioners.

I recently took my whole family including my husband, mother, and 2

children to see a naturopath on the recommendation of a friend. He

and I had discussed that my primary objective was to become

established as patients and let him get to know the kids while they

are well so that I could do phone consults for homeopathic advice

for when they fall ill from time to time (thank God we are usually

well). I expected that he would take a detailed health history from

each of us with lots of notes and many questions...instead he spoke

mostly about his experience and his credentials. This was a first

time experience for me, so I am not sure if this is what

naturopathic / homeopathic practioners would normally do when

presented with " healthy " people looking to switch modalities from

allopathy???

My disappointment was two-fold. First in that we were there a long

time because each appointment (5 people) was an hour, and secondly

because now I don't want to expend further financial resources for

another practioner at the moment. I am sure that this guy will do

fine with the acute stuff and I like that he doesn't push multiple-

products...so I think I can have a working relationship as a mother

and a nurse for the sake of my family. I just wonder what other

people's experiences have been like?

Thanks for listening,

Judy
