Guest guest
Hello group, We are going to Dominican Republic next month and in lieu of taking the antimalarial drug chloroquine would like to use a non-toxic mosquito repellent. Any suggestions? Thanks, Terry
Guest guest
I have heard of people having great success with taking lots of garlic to repel insects. Mind you after taking lots of garlic you may also repel humans as well, but again it's said to work wonders on repelling insects. Some other options are eucalyptus, geranium, lemon oil, patchouli, paw paw, peppermint, pine, rosemary and tea tree oils. Guest guest
Peppermint oil applied to your pulse points is very effective in repelling bugs. I use it all the time. Sherry L. Guest guest
Also, try a good B Complex. There is a particular B vitamin which gives blood a scent mosquitos don't like (I can't remember which one!). From personal experience, after a hike through a swamp, I was the only one in the group not eaten alive! I was also the only one who took vitamins. Not sure about the mosqitoes in the Dominican Republic, but it certainly seemed to repel New Jersey mosquitoes. Guest guest
Catnip oil is great as a mosquito repellent. I use extracted oil as essential oil need to be cut before use. Ebay is a good place to look for some. Sue Next-gen email? Have it all with the all-new Mail Beta.
