Guest guest Posted July 21, 2006 Report Share Posted July 21, 2006 Tip of the Day: " To induce relaxation and sleepiness naturally in children and adults; use dimmer lights at night and low lights; here is why: *Light itself increases *Serotonin; *Seotonin is the feel good awake chemical; However the absence of Light or darkness creates *Melatonin; *Melatonin is the relax and sleep chemical. So by turning your lights low after dark; the body will manufacture *Melatonin naturally; which will make children sleepy. But keeping Lights on bright after dark only encourages Insomnia.
