Hello,

I am new to this group, and have just joined.I am 52 years, resident

in India.

Recently, I had a health check-up done, where one test led to

another. To make a long story short, a MRI revealed that I have a

small plaque on a heart artery. Although this is not a cause for

concern right now (the doctor didn't even prescribe any medication),

I have been warned of being careful. I am a non smoker (gave up

about 5 years ago), and a moderate drinker. And recently I have

taken to 3 x week yoga classes.

Question...I want to explore a method to be rid of this plaque. Is

there any alternative medicines/herbs, etc, that one can use to be

rid of this?

Many thanks,

Khushroo

Kushroo,

What a coincdence. My heart has been developing an irregular heartbeat and last

night I decided to call the heart doctor on Monday. I will keep you posted on

what my condition is and then perhaps if we have similar problems we can compare

notes. I think I have something more than build up in the system. But we will

see.

I started to laugh when I read that you are 52 because that is my age as well.

It must be an age thing.

Take care of yourself.

Yes, for women, it is an " age thing " . Heart palpitations are very

common in perimenopause and menopause due to hormonal changes.

Always a good idea to get checked if you're concerned, but it's quite

normal. Beware, the doc will likely want to put you on some kind of

synthetic hormones.

Hawthorn Berry is excellent for balancing an abnormal heartbeat.

If you drink alcohol, I would suggest tincturing - merely soaking -

some dried berries in vodka (preferably 50 proof) or brandy for a few

weeks at a time.

You can make your daily drink into a medicine. It has a pleasant

flavor, too.

Hawthorn can also be taken as a supplement for those who like to pop

their pills.

I have read *Vitamin C cleans the arteries; found in fresh fruits.

It has been known for centuries *Magnesium helps Irregular Hearbeats.

Magnesium found in Greens(Lettuce and Oatmeal some Mag in mushromms.

Ha ha ha ha,

No synthetic hormones for me. Bio-identical or bust! Biest or Triest would be

the only kind of Estrogen I would even consider and my GYNO will not put me on

Estrogen because I already have migraines. At least they come in handy for

something!

I am still debating the heart doctor.....

Thanks for your thoughts,

Much love,

Lorain

Hey Lorain, good for you! Sadly, so many women are still allowing

their doctors to convince them that synthetic HRT is the only way to

go.

I'm going to post some info on the benefits of natural, USP

progesterone cream (no, I'm not trying to sell anything!) It does so

much more than most women think.

Now that my estrogen levels have dropped, I'm just increasing some

supplements (boron and vitamin e both stimulate estrogen) and eat more

phytoestrogens. Seems to be doing the trick!
