Guest guest
Bipolar Disorder is experienced when there are high levels of dopamine. This is the neurotransmitter that is responsible for manic feelings. Once the neurotransmitter is converted to epinephrine it leaves the person depressed. Getting the amino acid l-tyrosine is important to maintaining appropriate levels of dopamine in the brain and is primarily found in red meat. Eating red meat or taking a protein supplement at breakfast can be helpful. Supporting the nervous system with B complex vitamins and flax seed oil is beneficial. Lithium, which is a trace mineral, is also beneficial. People with bipolar disorder should limit their exposure to toxins as much as possible by avoiding chemicals in foods, household products, etc. You may also want to be screened for food allergies.
