I am currently on Allegra, 24hr pills to help with my sinus problems.

No allergies as far as I know of. Is there a alternative to drugs to

help with one's sinuses ? If I dont take the Allegra I am congested

for most of the day & at night I wake up to breathe through my mouth.

Thanks

Dawn

Hi Dawn,

Many years ago I suffered from chronic sinus infections. I saw different

doctors and an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who kept giving me

stronger and stronger antibiotics as well as allergy medications, nasal

sprays and even steroids. I was finally diagnosed with having a polyp in

the sinus under my right eye and a deviated septum which was due to

repeated infections. I was given the option to stay on medications

indefinitely or have surgery to " correct " the problem.

An herbalist recommended 2 herbal combinations to me that support and

nourish the respiratory system including the sinuses. After I began

taking the herbs my body was able to heal and I no longer had the sinus

issues and never took any other medications or had surgery.

So, of course I always recommend these products to all my clients who

suffer from allergies and sinus problems.

ALJ: http://www.mynsp.com/natureforlife/products/guide.aspx?stockNum=774

Fenugreek & Thyme:

The ALJ promotes respiratory tissue health and gently cleanses the

respiratory system. The Fenugreek & Thyme is wonderful for sinus

congestion and sinus headaches.

Blessings,

Hi Dawn,

I had a lifetime of congestion due to allergies, along with a tendency to

sinus infections.

Limiting dairy in my diet, high doses of Vit C and a good B vitamin

supplement along with saline rinses has eliminated my need for antihistamins. If

my sinuses start feeling inflamed I take homeopathic belladonna.

Breathing peppermint oil also helps. But don't do that at the same time the

homeopathic is used.

It took a couple of months for me to see results.

Good luck!

Yes, you can try an aromatherapy treatment. Either mix your own or

consult an aromatherapist.

Useful oils:

eucalyptus essential oil

lavender essential oil

peppermint essential oil

tea tree essential oil

rosemary essential oil

a. 2 drops eucalyptus and 2 drops rosemary in your oil blend will

encourage clearing congestion.

b. invigorating oils ( eucalyptus and rosemary) can be used to massage

the face, head, and chest.

c. massage temples with 1% dilution peppermint oil to clear nasal

passages.

d. massage neck and base of skull with an oil blend to open the sinuses.

e. apply pressure with fingertips along eyebrows and under cheekbones

to open sinuses.

f. combine equal parts eucalyptus, tea tree and lavender for a sinus

bath blend (add to warm bath).

Making blends can be tricky. See our web site (non profit) for further

tips.
