Guest guest
I would be very careful about substituting the essential oil of any fruit for the juice of the fruit itself. Remember that essential oils are non water soluable, and must be processed by the liver and excreted by the kidneys. Too much essential oil can overload the liver, and cause damage. Certainly a drop or two of lemon EO to flavor something is fine, but if you are going to make batches of lemonade from it, I would ask a professional. In person. Don't take the advice of some anonymous person on the Internet. Essential oils should be treated pretty much as medicinal items. Err on the side of caution. Guest guest
Dear Morbid Soul, You would be quite right about the oils - if they are not therapeutic grade. But true therapeutic grade oils are outstanding for ingesting - and most especially for cleansing the liver!! Some of the finest oils in the world are the the most aggressive and effective at cleansing not just the liver, but the colon, the blood...the entire body. I, too, add lemon oil to my squeezed lemon.
