I make lemonade using Lemon essential oil and stevia will this hurt

I would be very careful about substituting the essential oil of any

fruit for the juice of the fruit itself. Remember that essential oils

are non water soluable, and must be processed by the liver and

excreted by the kidneys. Too much essential oil can overload the

liver, and cause damage. Certainly a drop or two of lemon EO to

flavor something is fine, but if you are going to make batches of

lemonade from it, I would ask a professional. In person. Don't take

the advice of some anonymous person on the Internet. Essential oils

should be treated pretty much as medicinal items. Err on the side of

caution.

Dear Morbid Soul,

You would be quite right about the oils - if they are not therapeutic grade.

But true therapeutic grade oils are outstanding for ingesting - and most

especially for cleansing the liver!! Some of the finest oils in the world are

the the most aggressive and effective at cleansing not just the liver, but the

colon, the blood...the entire body. I, too, add lemon oil to my squeezed lemon.
