Try looking for 'Sugar in the Raw'. It's a brand of turbinado sugar that most

major grocery chains offer now.

I don't think that is sugar in the raw- but I think turbinado sugar is also like

brown sugar- I would be interested in finding out also as I have this sugar also

in my cabinets and I don't know what to do with it.

" Sugar in the Raw " is the brand of turbinado sugar I use. Brown sugar

and turbinado are not the same. Turbinado sugar is 100% natural cane,

raw sugar - whereas Brown sugar (for example Dixie Crystals brand)

contain sugar (refined) and cane syrups. Turbinado is natural while

brown sugar isn't.

Where I live, I cannot relate to 'sugar in the raw' or Turbinado, which is

why I asked for more detail. What I have found is that we have Muscavo sugar

which seems to be what I'm looking for...

Muscavo : Certified Organic Mascavo sugar is simply " sugar the way it's

meant to be. " Starting with organically grown cane, it is hand-harvested,

then squeezed, sun-dried, and sifted. No

removing or rearranging of the ingredients, as is too often the case these

days. Just pure sugar with all the vitamins, minerals, and secrets of nature

intact. The sweet carmel flavor is uniquely delicious.

Lorraine, I have no idea what's available where you are, but here, I'd use

Mascavo sugar. I guess as long as it says something along the line of raw

sugar on the packaging.
