I have been experiencing a high level of anxiety over the past few

months. Over that time I have noticed periods when my left leg (and

sometime my right) will vibrate internally. I told my Dr. and he

feels it is stress related. I tend to agree because if I calm my mind

and take deep breaths, I can make it stop. I am so anxiety ridden

that I am awaken from my sleep by it. I really hate the idea of a

Psychiatrist, because I fear meds. What will help me Calm my body and

mind? any ideas?

Hi there,

Energy psychology approaches are a great

way to calm your mind and body, as well as deal with pervasive anxiety.

In some cases – as when a trauma has

happened or is being remembered – it is best to let the body shake. The natural

physiological response during a time of trauma is shaking, and sometimes people

experience this with flashbacks or similar experiences, and if the shaking is

suppressed the trauma just gets locked in further, rather than released.

However, if it’s not related to

trauma or if it persists, you can use energy work to rapidly yet gently dissolve

the anxiety and bring yourself to a greater place of relaxation. Of course if

it is trauma related, you can use energy work to do that too J

Hi Deborah,

To relieve anxiety, it is necessary to calm down the function of the

sympathetic nervous system with sympatholytic agents and to increase the

activity of the parasympathetic nervous system with parasympathomemtic

agents. Two of the very best herbs for calming anxiety and panic attacks

are kava kava and lobelia. Taking B-complex vitamins, particularly B-6

is beneficial. Avoid caffeine and other stimulants and eliminate refined

sugar.

Blessings,

Lots of ideas! Where do we start?

Body/mind/emotions/spirit are a continuous

feedback loop.

Listen to "ZenSight" Carol, she's great.

Try EFT on EVERYTHING!

There is no contradiction between using an

energy medicine approach AND nutrition.

How well-nourished is your nervous system?

Are you getting enough of the calming minerals,

calcium and magnesium? Trace minerals? B vitamins?

Also:

The symptoms you describe could well be linked

to adrenal exhaustion.

Trembling legs and anxiety are frequently experienced

by people suffering from Parkinson's, because they are

symptoms of adrenal exhaustion.

I am not suggesting you have PD, just explaining

the reasoning behind the adrenal exhaustion idea.

Follow me into a little puzzle here:

I am part of the support system of a young woman

with Parkinson's Disease who is using the protocol

described at http://pdrecovery.org

According to this theory, PD originates with an unhealed

injury to the foot, that in turn disrupts the body's

energy system, and that results in a person shutting

down the Dopamine-based "rest and repair" system.

Instead the person is driven by the Adrenalin-based

"Fight or Flight" system.

The Dopamine producing cells of the brain are not dead,

just dormant.

Clinical symptoms finally occur once the Adrenal system

burns out, years later. The condition can be reversed.

I am not a doctor, and cannot give medical advice etc.

But it can't hurt to provide your magical, self-healing

body with the raw materials it needs to do the job.

You might want to look into supplements that nourish

your glandular system.

So-called Adaptogens help us to do exactly

that: they nourish our glands, so the glands are up

to the job of helping us to adapt and cope.

Plant-based gland foods do not try to by-pass

the delicate feedback system of the body/mind.

Can you see how that is different from trying

to mess with hormones directly?

From my Amazon wild-foods pantry, Sumacazon,

Warrior, and Calmazon or Kavazon come to mind.

Sumacazon is a whole-body glandular tonic.

It is also a superb source of amino acids, trace minerals

and B vitamins.

Warrior is more targeted to the adrenal system.

Interestingly, I have seen it act as a calming

influence on my ADD son. Weak adrenal functioning

can also be a factor in ADD. But that is another topic.

Calmazon and Kavazon both help to sooth and calm

an anxious churning mind that can't seem to shut

itself up.

Hello,

Have you tried essential oils. There is one that comes to mind it is called Peace & Calming, works GREAT. If your Dr feels this is stress related then this oil would help you. You inhale it, difuse it. For more information please e-mail me privately @ lbbus
