Guest guest
Welcome Doris- Your "story" could sound like mine- I also live in the NewYork area, and also have started a Yoga practice with going to classes twice a week, and I have started hoping that a more natural alternative, or less evasive approach to medicine is what we need now in this country. Too many medicines have WAY too many terrible side effects, why take them. I have been to an acupuncturist to help and it did- with Raynaud's which is when your hands turn a bluish color when they are cold. This really helped and also for weightloss, which I didn't have much luck with, but I am am still hoping. I just turned 45 on my last birthday. Welcome to the group- so far I really enjoy it- I just started about a week ago. Ellen - doris Tuesday, April 18, 2006 12:06 PM I am new Hello all. Guest guest
Hi Doris! Ah, weightloss, don't we all..... Have you seen the book by Marla Cilley aka FlyLady, called Body Clutter? It goes into the emotional factors behind overeating. I am just about to get seriouly started, after 30 years of kidding myself that I am holding steady. Every summer I lose about 5 or 6 pounds. Every fall I think of throwing away my fat pants. Every spring I am very glad to put them back on, because I have gained about 8 pounds in the winter. You do that for 30 years, it adds up. I have ordered a scale. And I will put "Take Metabazon" in the FlyLady control journal. When I do my food seems to last longer and I actually forget to think about food!
