Guest guest
Thank you for responding to my request for alternative solutions for seizures. I found the responses helpful but I did want to comment as a person (who is a doctor) with seizures; on the, " what to do if someone has a seizure. " I have frequent and various forms of seizures predominantly a blank stare, with involuntary body twitches accompanied by confusion, imbalance, speech difficulty and memory loss. I also have grand mal seizures where I just loose all control. It is my preference that people leave me alone...period. Unless I am going to whack my head on something on the way out, I just want to be left alone. Its embarassing enough and the fact that you have absolutely no control over it, makes it worse. But when people are making an ordeal about something you have to live with on a daily basis, it makes me feel as though I am a freak and don't want to take the risk of being in public. If you are someone who has seizures, I have learned the cues and sometimes I can win over them and other times I can't. First, I get an auro, it feels like a high..I begin to go into a trancelike state for a brief moment. It feels good at that point, so I sometimes fade into it, my fiance has learned the cues as well and he will tap me or clap to get my attention and break the trance and I can come back. Flourescent lights, strobes, camera flashes and the sun strobbing through a car window all trigger my seizures. So, I stay away from places that have strobes, avoid camera's with flash, etc. But you can get caught off gaurd. The second cue for me is black spots. The 3rd is a headache with a nausau, the 4th is involuntary twitches. Can you site the web links for me in the previous responses, there was one that was repeatedly mentioned but no website link.
