Guest guest
Hi Jent, I would use these homeopathic remedies for an old injury like that: Arnica, Rhus Tox (for nerve pain/damage) and Mag Phos for pain in the extremities. These are the ones I have used for an old shoulder injury I had and they worked extremely well. Go to http://abchomeopathy.com/ to learn more about homeopathy and these remedies in particular to make sure they are the right ones for you. It won't " hurt " you if you take the wrong remedy but you won't get the results you are going for. Remember that when taking homeopathic remedies you *must* avoid coffee, mint and other strong flavors. For instance, it will do no good to take your remedy and then go brush your teeth and use strong mouthwash... to do so will antidote the remedy and make it ineffective. So make sure you have clean/dry mouth (no drink, food or cigs) 15-30 minutes before taking a remedy and for 15-30 minutes after. Personally, coffee antidotes ALL my homeopathy no matter how long it was since I took the remedy. I found that out the hard way too. I had given up all coffee (and caffeine) years and years ago and had been doing really really great as far as controlling my FMS pain and symptoms - I was practically symptom free for months on end using nothing more than those 3 remedies I mentioned and the arnica gel. Then one morning I ate at the local truck stop... and what does one eat at a truck stop but biscuits with gravy and a big cup of coffee? lol... I thought " oh one cup isn't gonna kill me " so I gave into the craving and had the coffee. It tasted sooooo good!!! But within 2-3 days, ALL my aches and pains and sciatica and fibro-flares returned and I had to start over with my remedies. I don't care how yummy that coffee was, it certainly wasn't worth the constant all-over pain. So to sum that up, personally I have found that coffee - no matter if taken at different times of the day than the remedy or not - will antidote homeopathy and therefore should be avoided at all times. I don't know anyone that has treated a chronic condition homeopathically that got better while they were still consuming coffee on a daily basis. Coffee is an addictive drug and really should be eliminated from the diet if one is seeking healing. I'm not sure if it was on this list or not but I recently saw a comment that one should remove all wheat from the diet *before* starting homeopathic treatments. I disagree. I haven't ever seen any mention of that in of my text books or online studies. I have had positively incredible results from homeopathy but have never even tried to eliminate the wheat in my diet. Unless you have an celiac dis-ease or an actual allergy or intolerance to wheat, it's inclusion in your diet shouldn't affect whether homeopathy works for you or not. Coffee most definitely will, but wheat? No, I seriously doubt it. (If anyone here does have an intolerance to wheat, see a homeopathic doctor or go the site I mentioned and find the remedy for you symptoms.) Oh yea, another thing I did for my shoulder was deep muscle body work in combination with Reiki and aromatherapy. I went into that session with the intention of releasing that old injury and pain and to remove the memory of it from my muscles. And it worked - after suffering with that pain for 20 years, it is completely gone now and I consider the area healed. What area are you located? If you don't know a good massage therapist I may be able to hook you up with on - depending on where you are of course. ;-) Hope this helps. Please let us know what you end up trying and how it works for you. I have an elbow and forearm which gets a bit sore at times. The forearm seems to be fascia and tendon related (repetitive motion injury), and some of all of the elbow pain may be related to that, as well (since they tend to get sore at the same times). > >I used some arnica gel (but nothing else) on them both the other day, and got several hours of relief. Is this something I could use long term to help actually HEAL this old injury, or is this just relieving some of the pain and related issues of the day? Obviously I'm wanting to actually heal what I can, rather than just " bandaid " it -- but if " bandaid " is the best I can get at this point, I'd like the " bandaid " to be the most helpful and least harmful! > >Thanks for your thoughts! > >Jent > > " The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.
