Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I am new to the group. I have a question about education in alternative healing. I live in Portland Oregon, U.S.A., and I am interested in learning about Hot Stone Therapy, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Accupressure, and the such. There are really no courses available for most of what I want to learn. I have found several online courses out of the U.K. Does anyone know of or have any education advice for me on where else to look? I am a sinlge mother of two and unable to " go away " to school. Thank you. ~v~
Guest guest
Hello V, I am sending you two links. One is for Accupressure {I took that course years ago and enjoyed it} and the other is to my website. If you are looking to get some CEU's before committing to a long term certification course, I teach 12 different self help courses that maybe of interest to you. Best of luck and welcome to the group. Vance http://www.g-jo.com/homestudycertification.html http://alternative-therapy.biz/
Guest guest
Hi Vance, Thank you so much for responding to my post. I am interested in certification as I would like to make this my work for the rest of my days! I have tossed the idea of massage therapist around but honestly I don't want to work that hard physically anymore! I have worked as a Pet Groomer for several years. A very physical job and injured my back there back in August. Right now I am at the point where I need to learn to do something else. I want to help people. In a positive, healthy manner. I don't like hospitals, and have always been interested in alternative methods. I recently did a Career Exploration class. My results leaned towards teaching, social or creative work. I like the idea of social work, because I enjoy people, but I don't want to work in ......a "heavy" envioronment. I am a survivor of many things. Domestic Violence being one and have tossed that whole idea of being involved in womens lives that way, but really don't want to relive that on a daily basis. Totally into "healing" though. Would like to focus on Women. Want to take a Womens Stress course. Teach women how to deal better. Anyway.......I feel I am on the right path so far, and any input you have for me would be welcome. You seem like someone I would love to sit across from for a few hours!!! Thanks again. I do have one question for you..........Stroke. Do you know of, have you heard of methods that help post mile stroke? ~Vivian~ vlarson1 wrote: Hello V, I am sending you two links.
