Guest guest
I bought some eo sometime ago and have not use them very much. Earlier there was a question about if the eo's be put in the fridge, which got me thinking. Is there or should you (rule of thumb) have an expiration date for eo's and herbs? Thanks
Guest guest
keep them in a cool dry place..I do keep most of mine in the fridge..it helps keep them longer. I would go by the " smell " of them as to if they are good.. if they don't " Smell " right, then don't use them. Essential oils last anywhere from 1-2 years, depending upon what oil it is. The citrus oils are shorter lived. Now, this doesn't mean the oils go " bad " , it just means the theraputic value of them goes down. Herbs usually are best if used with in a year. I don't keep my oils in the fridge, but it is important to not over heat them or keep them in direct light (will lessen the theraputic value).
