Guest guest
Dear NV, I had the same condition around my nose for many years. Very sensive skin. I'm allergic to my own tears! These are the things that helped me: Get some French milled soap (little guest soaps from the dollar store) won't disturb the acid balance or strip the skin of protective oils Or some Softsoap that has honey and milk in it Rinse at least 20 times Then always put some protection on your face. I use makeup, but sometimes a thin coat of Noxzema skin cream. Or Oil of Olay. I only put sunblock on over my makeup. Have you ever made "green water" in the sun? (Let sit 8 hrs. in a dark green bottle, corked, keeps a long time, discard if floaters appear in it) When my face gets really bad, I use a oilier cleanser (my sister sells Avon, so I'm using a peach milk one), then a cotton ball with water and witch hazel to tone, and then the green water...which moisturizes. It is like rainwater or something. A man in Africa on this site said they use it fo eyedrops, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, moisturizer, everything. I am taking the Olay vitamins for beautiful skin and it is really helping! I also use oil of olay at night. I hope some of this helps. Please let me know Athena Love, Athena

I'm a fair complected redhead, and have dryness issues on my face, especially around my nose. I am thinking of switching from commercially prepared moisterizers (I've been using Oil of Olay hydrating) to jojoba oil (which is technically a wax, I know). I've been reading that it is very good for dry skin. I was thinking of combining it with patchouli, which is a scent I love, and I understand it has some skin benefits also. I was wondering what some of your educated thoughts are on this dry facial skin solution. Thanks so much for any feedback you may offer, and I look forward to learning much here. Guest guest
Hi NV Welcome to the group! I've used straight Jojoba oil for years. I'm also a fair skinned red head and my skin just seems to drink the oil. I've added carrot seed extract and primrose oil to my jojoba before to use under my eyes but I really like it straight. I'm not sure about the patchouli. Try just adding a few drops at a time. Good luck , " Nocturnus Veneficus " <nocturnus_veneficus wrote: > > What a great group!
