Well, I've never had real issues with sensitive teeth or anything but

since I've been taking a multi-vitamin, garlic, and the grapefruit

seed extract (for this boil that is now finally gone!) I noticed that

my teeth became a little sensitive. The multi-vitamin has some good

amounts of calcium and magnesium in it and I already eat a lot of

leafy greens, etc. We'll see. Thanks for the advice! Like right now

for instance, they feel fine...weird...it comes and goes!

I wish Vitamin C was all it was. I've had so much Vitamin C my bladder feels yellow! But my teeth are so sensitive, they still bleed every single time I brush.

Sheila, i used to brush my teeth with a regular tooth brush but being

my not so perfect self, i seldom did the flossing. occassionally i

would hit a tender spot and bleed. but i finally bought, back about 3

years ago, an electric tooth brush and do use it regularly along with

diluted 50/50 hydrogen peroxid and i massage my gums with the brush as

well as scrub the teeth (lower) and upper dentures and i haven't had a

bleeder nor sore spot since. the massage is very good for the gums. i

also scrub my tongue with the electric brush and rinse well with the

diluted hp.

i even, with my hands on the jaws of my cat, massage her gums (not in

her mouth) and think it is good for her.

what tisses me off was when i ask my dentist's aid way before that if

an electric brush would be any good, she brushed me off with. 'i don't

know..i guess some like it,,... some don't...' and i found out later

that that's part of what she used to clean my upper plates as well as

my lower teeth when i paid to have my teeth cleaned!!!!! :<

Sheila, it makes my jaws grip tight just thinking of the pain you are

experiencing. wish so much to help...

this may be very far fetched, but if you don't know, and i don't know

and the dentist don't know, and no one else on this list knows... i

wonder what if????

one of my sons used to practice karate and in the process of

hardening his hands he would soak them in salt water. also, as i was

growing up and had problems with teeth and gums..(in my day many

people could not afford a dentist) i would brush with salt and

bakingsoda and also gargle and wash mouth out good with salt water ..

probably like what we now call a saline solution. thatt always cleared

up the problems.

now.. what if.. what if this could be helpful in conditioning the

mouth and gums??? it might be worth a try. can't hurt... might help.

i will keep positive thoughts on your behalf.

Sheila,

Have you thought about tooth and gum formula... or taking total tonic adding some water and use as a mouthwash... swish around... it is a great antibiotic... and might just help whatever is causing the problem.... Another thing would be lemon egg to build up your calcium in your teeth.

Hi Atillio,

They say that the teeth are an extension of the bones and are under

the influence of the kidneys. Maybe thats a clue?

I havent seen any literature regarding sensitive teeth either.

Take care.

a colleague of mine says that if there is teeth sensitivity with

cold -could be a associated with Kidneys, if with hot- could be a

YangMing Heat problem. Does that help?

this is an Earth yin deficient on Water yang excess pattern

if the teeth tend to corrode, have a brown tinge, and are brittle, this

will tend top confirm the pattern

Attilio,

I've run in to two situations of sensitive teeth. One involving the

bone structure - either a worn enamel with possibly a receding jaw line

which I relate to kidney deficiency, or a receding gum line which

exposes the roots. Both can give similar sensations of sensitive teeth.

I don't know that a receding gum line is necessarily kidney deficiency,

but probably has atleast spleen/stomach involvement.

A lack of water for tissue and also a change in pH balance can also cause

tissues to decline and opportunistic infections to occur.

Hi Sherry, Where do you live??? If you reside in the US I have a

suggestion for you regarding Progesterone. There is a wonderful

homeopathic company in the US that has unbelieveable products.

Please refresh my memory, is it the sensitive teeth that you are

concerned about - if so why not try the gano toothpaste with reishi

mushroom in it for your problem, If you are looking for progesterone

for menopause or menses problems then you might want to look at this

company. If you reside in Canada then you are out of luck for this

company. You can see it at www.King Bio .com and they have wonderful

products. We use the Anti inflammatory which is awesome!!! I only

wish I could get the menopause but it is not to be right now. This

co. has sprays in water base which makes it extremely easy to

consume. Highly effective. So let me know where you live!!! Do take

Dear Peggy,

some suggestions for sensitive teeth:

Eat aged cheddar cheese. the calcium in it bonds with the tooth enamel and fills in the tiny exposed tubules.

Some toothpastes on the market claim to remineralize teeth. I imagine they contain calcium.

If you are using too hard a toothbrush, or your brushing technique is exposing your tooth roots or gums, try to brush gums toward the teeth so as to avoid doing further damage. You can use salt to toughen the gums. Rubbing a few grains into them at night with your finger, or using a lukewarm salt rinse after brushing and flossing.

If you bleach your teeth, you may be overdoing it. Cut back. Lemon juice or eating lemon rinds or acid foods can cause sensitivity.

Drink with a straw.

Don't have your teeth cleaned TOO often. Your tooth enamel can be worn down and teeth can appear clear, and be sensitive.

I read that green tea is beneficial, too, though not sure how it works.

In his great Love

Athena
