Guest guest
Hi! I'm throwing this out there for anyone's benefit and would appreciate any feedback. A few weeks ago I posted a bout a therapy I had done that involved relaxation massage, nerve stroking, and laughter therapy. Until a month ago, I never had it done and I am a sold believer! The hour long treatment begins with a relaxing foot massage, one at a time and then both together. The second half hour involves a light stroking, scratching lightly, etc. Historically it was done in many different countries, primarily in royal circles. It may cause a great deal of laughter but you just have to give in to it and let it happen. I personally think it is a combination of reflexology with the laughter therapy. Afterwards, my therapist and I sit down and go over the reflexology charts. It is simply amazing how it works! I had my fifth session today. When I went I was so stressed out. My stomach was tense and my hands were shaking...just stress. As a result, my therapist changed her procedure, doing a little less of the relaxation massage and more of the stimulation. What surprised me is that with all the stress I was less sensitive and it took longer to get a reaction. I have always heard the stress increases sensitivity or ticklishness but my findings were the exact opposite! By the way, I feel asleep three times during the first part, so my body was relaxed but I think my mind was still racing. I also noticed the the lighter, slower, and longer...the length of the strokes, the more sensitive it was. As far as the laughter, I was actually to the point of laughing silently and in fact, my therapist started laughing with me! She said it was just contagious. Anyhow, I got it all out...deep belly laughs, eyes tearing, and especially at the cool down, ultimate stress release. It is just amazing to me. Afterwards, though tired, I felt very relaxed, no more shaking, and it was odd too in that my posture was better.I was sitting with my back straight. Even though I was tired, I still felt energized! This is such a great technique! Again, I'd appreciate any feedback, thoughts, etc. Britt

I am a (small time) Reflexologist, and I am also part of the support system for a friend who is using a natural protocol to recover from Parkinson's Disease. (see http://pdrecovery.org ) This sounds like something that might be helpful to her. Right now, her energy blocks are gone, but she needs to rebuild her ability to utilize Dopamine. Laughter is one way to do that! Is there a website where I can find out more about this?
