It is the exchange of energy. In the book THE ELEGANT UNIVERSE, it says... When light strikes the surface of your skin, it causes you to feel warmer. This transferred energy can agitate electrons...." The feel will vary with depending upon what you are working on. Example, the energy will feel different if you are working on a sore muscle or an emotional blockage. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Zena, I would encourage you to pay attention to your own experience and ignore what others may tell you your experience ought to be like. This includes books and magazines about Reiki. I was initiated into two levels of Reiki and was planning on Master level when this began to dawn on me. How do I distinguish between what I experience and what others tell me I ought to experience? How do I distinguish between what is really happening in my own body and its flow of energy (which, btw, was always there—Reiki added nothing to your connection with universal energy—you would not be alive if you were not already completely connected)? The only way is to stop listening to what others have to tell you about your own experience and start paying attention to your own body, your own sense of the flow of energy. I ultimately stopped practicing Reiki. I came to realize that I was always in touch with universal energy, and still am. The initiations only added one thing: they added the projections of the Master to my energetic field. Even though the Master who gave me attunements was well-intended, all of her stuff got projected into me. That’s an issue that is never discussed at Reiki meetings, attunements or in an of the books and journals. The energy that you are, your own breath, and your willingness to observe these things in yourself are all that you need. Robert
