Guest guest
Hi, I've been seeing a wellness chiropractor for several years. I seem to have a permanent condition that just doesn't seem to resolve: Two of the bones in my back seem determined to fuse together. When I saw him several times a week, the situation seemed to be corrected. He worked and worked the bones until they broke free. Howeever, now that I'm back down to once a week, these bones seem to again be getting stiff ad re-fusing. I cannot afford to keep going to him three times a week, and the travel time there and back is a hardship with my schedule. Does anyone here have any suggestions as to what other options I might explore. Thank you. -Joe G.

The doctor had to painfully break her shoulder free (requiring an outpatient stay and ice body bag) each time, since a few months later the other one was fused, and he prescribed physical therapy. Her problem was never lifting her arms above her head! She was told to do arm circles. (Oh, they first tried having her use a hammer to break the problem free. It didn't work). We didn't think of using a chiropractor. Anyway, she was also consuming a lot of cokes which causes calcium to leak from the bones, causing bone spurs. She was even getting them in her feet! I have heard that certain fish oils taken internally, loosen the joints. I don't know if this relates in any way to the back, but thought I would mention it God bless you Athena Another problem was that her purse was too heavy. Lightening the load really helped with pain. Guest guest
Hi Athena! When I turned 40, I weighed around 400lbs and had a 60inch waist. I've lost the excess weight and am keeping it off. But, when I was obese, I needed to unnaturally pivot in the middle of my back to reach forward while sitting to get around my gut. I think this might have caused a long term injury that calcifies unless it is manually broken up. Unfortunately, it seems to need more and more work to keep it free. Since losing the weight, I never, never drink soda pop. But, that is an excellent guess. I'l keep my eyes open in case I'm somehow consuming phosphoric acid in some food and not realizing it. I will use your suggestion and add cod liver oil to my diet as well as upping my Mg level as Donna recommended. I hope your mother is well now. Thank you for your kind help. -Joe HeiressArts wrote: > In a message dated 1/6/2006 7:35:21 AM Central Standard Time, > joegum writes: > Dear Joe, my mother was around 60 when her shoulder began to hurt and > her bones had fused together. Guest guest
Hi Phil, I'll ask him, but, he's a wellness chiropractor, so he wants to see me at least weekly anyhow. I did ask him if there was anything I could do on my own, and he suggested I practice a stance similar to the cobra in yoga. I was hoping (maybe too ambitiously) that I might not only be able to stop the progression of this, but, maybe to cut back to once or twice a month. I think this all started because I used to be morbidly obese. On my 40th birthday, I weighed about 400lbs and had a 60inch waist. I lost over two-hundred lbs and now my waist is about 36inches. I'm now 45 and I'm confident that the excess weight is gone forever. When I was obese, i actually needed to unnaturally pivot in the middle of my back in order to reach things while sitting. I think this caused a long term injury which calcifies unless it's kept broken up. Thank you, Phil. -Joe pjb12345uk wrote: > --- joe if cost is becoming an issue > > then a suggestion get the chiro to show and preferably train someone > to do that specific task > a wife girlfriend friend , someone who is in sympathy with your > condition > > hope the chiro is amenable > always you could try spiritual/reiki healing too > phil > >

I cannot afford to keep going to him three times a week.> First of all, a big congrats for getting those bones loose at all! That shows your body that it is possible. Just tell it firmly you will NOT put up with any of this old-pattern fusing nonsense, lol. If you can keep going once a week, there are so many ways to help yourself in between visits I don't even know where to start. Many of these suggestions are free, some require a one time investment that will keep paying off, all are at least a lot cheaper than thrice weekly chiropractor visits. Since we are into talking to the body, start with Emotional Freedom Technique. It works, it really does, and the gist of the training is available for free. Ask me off list for a zip file with an easier to follow set of instructions. ienvan http://www.emofree.com/AffiliateWiz/aw.aspx?A=875 & Task=Click (that is an affiliate link. Makes no difference to any of you, but in case anyone decides to invest into deeper training, I could use the commission to buy my own CD set) Please be sure to drink enough water, and put a quarter or an eighth teaspoon of good live Celtic Sea Salt in every quart. Details on this on http://www.watercure.com Learn any of the following: Hand Reflexology (work the bony ridge below the thumb) For all matters on this wonderful Healing Art, visit http://www.reflexology-research.com Acupressure: get a copy of Acupressure's Potent Points, by Michael Reed Gach. (Bantam) Great, easy to follow self-help book, no home should be without it. For easier self massage on hard to reach places, consider a Theracane, available from Relax-the-Back stores. Friend of mine swears he kept himself from having to go on workman's compensation with it. I got my husband one for Christmas, fun to play with. Soak in a bath with Epsom Salts for deep relaxation. Add some relaxing Essential Oil for even greater effect. I am sure someone with more knowledge on that topic will pipe up with ideas on which ones. From my Rainforest Pharmacy, Recovazon works as both an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. It is available in caps, as a tincture and as a gel. Funny thing about Recovazon. It works like pure magic for some people, and doesn't seem to do much for others. There is only one way to find out which one you are, and that is to try some. The year-long no questions asked money back guarantee makes it risk-free. Empower yourself, and think positively! Guest guest
Dear Joe, I congratulate you on your weight loss! That is so encouraging! I was wondering if a physical therapist could help with keeping the calcification loosened. I don't know how much this costs in comparison to chiropractor fees.. Also, a sport, such as perhaps basketball, volleyball, or any racquet sport, maybe even bad- minton indoors...I wonder if that would give you beneficial stretching. If you have lost 400 lbs. you probably have the energy now to do many things that are active and healthy. Praise God. Thank you for your kind comment about my mother. She is doing well. She does wall pushups sometimes and bought a Groovin to the Music CD by Richard Simmons for cardio. The physical therapist worked with her for months to make sure she was flexible. Another thing I remember reading somewhere is that too much salt, and even too much protein, can cause leeching in the bones. Be sure to drink lots of water, because that will relieve a backache. There is a pad of water between each vertebra (I am not a doctor so if there is one out there, please correct this). When you are dehydrated, the bones are closer together. Whenever I get a backache, I drink water and it seems to go away. I will pray for your continued healing. Go the the Great Physician (Jesus). He is the one who heals. He turned no one away Athena
