Soothing Aromatherapy Essential Oils Aromatherapy is the practice of using naturally distilled essences of plants to promote the health and well-being of your body, mind, and emotion spirit. These essence, called essential oils, can restore balance and harmony to your body and to your life. Aromatherapy can be experienced through several mediums. Essential Oils are the purest form and most medicinal in their action. Essential oils are the substance that naturally occurs in a variety of plants which grow all over the world. In order to benefit from all the rich aspects essential oils have to offer, it is important to look at each structural source as an individual and unique frame of reference. The therapeutic " signature " of each plant, tree or fruit, is its essence, or essential oil. Below are the Essential Oils which are among the most useful and valuable for their soothing and tranquil properties. by utilizing these oils, you will find benefit both physically and emotionally. Chamomile, Benzoin, Bergamot, Cedarwood, Clary sage, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang. Use these oils to sooth in the following ways: Spritzer: In a spitzer bottle, add warm water and 4-6 drops of two of the above oils. Shake the bottle and spitz yourself and your surroundings, air, bed linens, carpets, curtains... (be careful, oils my stain fabrics). Oil Diffuser: Add water to the bowl of the diffuser and then add 5-6 drops of two of the above oils. Light a tea candle under the diffuser in order to release the frangrance into any room. Oils will evaporate fast with the heat, so add more oil every 30 minutes until room is scented to your liking. Massage oil: In a bottle, add a base of jojoba, sunflower, safflower or vegetable oil. Add 10-12 drops of one or two of the above oils. Close the bottle top and turn the bottle over several times to blend the oil. Massage into your skin or someone elses skin for a soothing and calming rub. Massage cream: In a bottle, add your favorite body lotion. Add 10-12 drops of one or two of the above essential oils. Close the bottle top and shake the bottle several times to blend the oil. Massage into your skin or someone elses skin for a soothing and calming rub. Massage into feet and hands. Calming Perfume: In a roll on bottle add a teaspoon of light sunflower oil. Then add 6-12 drops of one or two of the above essential oils.
