I am seeking information about massage therapy so that I may make a

decision about whether this would be a career for me or not. the first

question I have is: How difficult is it for a massage therapist to get

work? The second question I have is how much typically does a massage

therapist make? I would like to point out that I realize that I can

find statistical data which addresses these question, however I would

like to hear an answer from someone(s) who has done it and who knows

this information first hand.

Jason,

I would love to tell you that it is all great. I have been a massage therapist for a while and own and operate my own mobile massage company. It has been good to me, but the start up is the hardest part for my first year I was in the red. It takes a while and a lot of networking to make a succesfull practice. The other down fall is it is harder for a man to succed in this bussiness because people think that women are more professional than men. With time though this can be overcame. The best advice I can give is study all your options and prepare yourself for the long road ahead. I promise it will be worth it in the long run. I love my carrer and all that comes with it. My drive to help people is stronger than any negativity that I have encountered. Just make sure that you have a strong want to truly make a difference. Other than that go for it bro and if you need any help feel free to email me. I can help to answer any questions that you may have.

Good luck in your persuit.

---the limiting factor as many have found out might be your wrists and

joints

you will see the point if yo do 4-5 massages a day for a while

Jason..

I whole heartedly second what Jeremy wrote..My fiance and I do

massage and it is true that for men it is harder to get clientel at

first but I am sure if you are good with what you do it will grow in

time,,We also see massage as a theraputic healing avenue, and what we

have found is that if you add other healing modalities it will speed

up the business growth process, there are many good ones out there,

look at

www.oryanshealingcentre.com

and see what we do and it might give you some ideas..

Good luck..

Peace

Jack
