Thank you so much Athena.

Do you know whether aloe can be used straight from the plant in some way?

You know, Meenakshi, I really don't. But perhaps so? I can do a search on the internet and let you know. My guess would be that as long as the plant has not been fertilized it would be safe. Maybe juice could be extracted and mixed with camomile tea. Don't know what heat would do to it, although some people put it in coffee or protein shakes. I can get the mixture from Herbalife www.myherbalife.com for you and it is pleasant in taste. It's about $20 and $32 and it's a concentrate. (It tastes better than some dark mixtures from GNC, I'm told.) It comes in peach and raspberry, too. But the plain is my favorite in icewater. Just a splash.

I'm told that people have been drinking aloe for years so it must be safe and definitely seems to work

The only way to use aloe straight from the plant is on your skin as a

balm for a burn. I don't think you would ever want to ingest it

straight as it is thick, sticky, and smells kind of stinky. But its

great for burns.
