Guest guest
Hello- I have been recently diagnosed with mild and early degenerative disc disease in my neck. It causes some neck problems and pain along with pain and pins and needles in my right arm. As yet it is quite mild and in it's early stages but I would like to prevent it from getting any worse. I wondered if anyone here might have some suggestions as to supplements I could be taking or any other alternative therapy? I'm quite open to anything from crystal healing to vitamins to stretches or exercise........I already take a high potency naturaly based multi-vitamin along with extra calcium and vitamins E and C. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone here can give me! Lynne
Guest guest
Lynne, I wonder if you have explored the use of massage therapy for the relief of the muscle tissue around the discs. Tight muscles along the spinal column can have an affect on the discs themselves. Sometimes, the pins and needles are caused as much by the pressure of the muscles on nerves as they exit the disc as the discs themselves. Further, if muscles are tight, they can cause weak discs to press more on the nerves than they would otherwise. If you are not using massage therapy, and want to, find a therapist that is certified and licensd (if your state requires it) in both relaxation and one or more of the various pain relief modalities. Neuro-muscular therapy, deep tissue, soft tissue reliease, myofascial release, etc. Robert > > " Saffronmane " <myzen66 > 2005/10/07 Fri PM 07:46:33 EDT > > Therapies for degenerative disc disease > > Hello- > I have been recently diagnosed with mild and early degenerative disc > disease in my neck. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, You wrote: I wondered if anyone here might have some suggestions as to supplements I could be taking or any other alternative therapy? I'm quite open to anything ....> Lynn, Amen to the suggestion of gentle massage therapy, or other forms of bodywork that prevent your muscles from stiffening up and aggravating the problem. I have a nice article on this topic in print format along with some suggestions for nutritional support. I will be glad to send you the article if you give me a snailmail address. Also: once upon a time I went to see my doctor because of frequent stiff sore necks. I was told my neck would only get worse and I should avoid bending my head backwards. Shortly after that I started using a wild whole food with rare regenerative qualities. In fact, it has now been proven that AFA actually stimulates the activity of adult stem cells, the body's ultimate repair system. My neck has not hurt for years, and I move it any old way I want. Yes, this is something I sell, and use, so if you decide to try Recovazon and Aquazon I would get a commission. Can you live with that? Read more about AFA by sending a blank email here: aquazon Ien in the Kootenays****************************I can finish my own sentences again!muddled****************************
