Guest guest
Good Morning! Energy Medicine: Seasonal Healing Seasonal Healing is one of the best ways to remind ourselves that it is time to evaluate our health. Our moods and bodies change as the seasons change. Our past cultures have learned how to harmonize their bodies with the world around them. By altering their lifestyle with the change in the seasons, they were able to live longer, healthier lives. Regulated by cycles of light and dark and our Circadian Rhythm, seasonal healing takes a look at staying healthy with nutritional food and food that is local and seasonal to your area. Creating a good exercise routine, getting quality sleep and learning the best and safest ways to do a seasonal detox, are important elements in healing with the seasons. Emotional and Mental Health is the other component in seasonal health! Each season has associations that correspond with many aspects of the human psyche. Our own emotional, physical and mental health can reflect in these seasonal phases and elements. Make yourself more aware of these emotions, organs and related feelings during the particular season. This will allow you to be more conscious of your health concerns. The Autumnal Equinox occurs when the sun appears to move across the equator from the Northern Celestial Hemisphere to the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. The other point where the sun crosses the Celestial Equator is the Vernal Equinox during Spring. As the sun is on the Celestial Equator at the Autumnal Equinox, it has a declination of 0°. The right ascension at the Vernal Equinox is 0 h. Since the Autumnal Equinox is diametrically opposite to the Vernal Equinox on the Celestial Sphere, the Autumnal Equinox lies at 12 h of right ascension. You should then remember the equatorial coordinates of the Autumnal Equinox as 0°, 12 h. As an expression in nature, this is the time when crops are harvested. Leaves are changing to brilliant colors as they float gently to the ground. Gathering and elimination are the traits of this season and can be seen in nature as well as human health. Fall is good time to take a good look at our health and our lifestyle. Start by looking at the life around you. Are you living in chaos? Is your home in a shambles? Is there clutter everywhere? You may want to consider starting with a good gathering and elimination session. Feng Shui, the ancient art of placement, can help you to find order in your life. The temple, our physical bodies, are the only thing we have to carry the soul. When our physical bodies are not in proper working order, everything around us ultimately suffers. Our good health is all we have that stands between us and the aging process. The longer you keep your physical body in optimum health, the longer you have your temple to keep your soul on this plane. Detoxification is the best way to keep the body at its most ultimate working level. By enjoying a healthy, nutritional diet, getting good quality sleep and moderate exercise this can keep our physical form at it's best, always. Take the opportunities that are offered. Make the opportunities that are not. Find your Priorities of Life and give them merit. This is the best season to do this. This is the time when we have the greatest energy to utilize the power we are given! Andrew Pacholyk, MS, L.Ac.
