Highest ORAC Value - Tart Cherries

Thanks for the information on the tart cherries. I agree they

appear to have considerable benefit especially with gout and arthritis (I often

use it). I would like to suggest however, that when analyzing any Antioxidant

claim or product that you find out the new higher standard of assay/testing

known as ORACo. The older less-dependable ORAC only tests for water soluble

antioxidant activity while the newer ORACo standards also test for fat soluble antioxidant

activity. Much oxidative stress occurs inside or beyond the fat of the

cell. You should also look for certification that this testing was done by

independent labs with consumer shelf-purchased samples and not samples provided

by the company for the purposes of testing. Recently a nutritional

research & development company ordered products from 90 companies producing

antioxidant products and many of them did not test at all near what their

claims were, even the many claiming ORAC values. Incredibly 3 of the 90

products actually tested negative ORACo, meaning they actually promoted

oxidative stress! The difficulty is that most of these companies (if they

have any testing equipment at all) are not even using the newer standard yet.

There is an excellent nutritional research site by the company that produces

the highest ORACo antioxidant complex in the world. Just go to www.glyco.US, Click on the science link and

type AO (for AntiOxidant) in the search box.

Because of the superior research and quality of this company I chose to

represent their products but do the research yourself I believe you will soon

agree.

Blessings.

Thanks for the information on ORAC, I will check into that site but

the Brunswick research company is a reliable company and to my

knowledge it was a broad based study however I will continue to

research this as I think its fascinating that the tart cherry which

is available in a concentrated form is rated so high. There is a

chart on www.echerryjuice.com and the research information.
