Guest guest
Dear Friends , I just got back from Houston, TX and while there I met people from FEMA, a few Red Cross volunteers and a young mom with her two babies. Timing is not coincidental. Or is it? When leaving Phoenix, AZ to go to Houston, TX the line was long. I almost had to strip and did not appreciate the man going through my purse. Were talking Phoenix, AZ! Not the borders or Berlin. They have gone to the point of rediculous; the TSA employee's. Before 911 I paid 1.39 a gallon now I pay 3.19 a gallon. However, if I lived in Iraq or over there... gas is 0.10 cents a gallon. Of course most people use Camels or walk. Which is a good way to bring something very special and dear to my heart. Horses, what if we could keep our new transportation in our Garage? Or backyard? I would do it today if the city would allow this. http://lady.thefunlist.com/singinghorses.htm May G-d Continue to Bless America! May G-d continue to Bless all the Countries that Praise him. Guest guest
I haven't been able to get on a plane since 9/11, not because of the trauma of the day or any fear of flying issues, but from a lot of things that go into going somewhere more than a day trip away. I've never liked the process of traveling by plane... only so many bags, so many carry ons, and they can only be so big by this little, stay in your seat, this is all we have, the seat is only so wide, there is only so much personal space, no elbow room, and you are either stuck by the window and get to crawl over someone to get out or get to stand up or be crawled over if you sit on the aisle, and no you can't walk around even though you are 6 feet tall and your knees are being crushed and the person in the seat in front of you hasn't reclined yet. I felt like cattle with about as much respect. And that was before the searches got worse. I do think they make it more difficult than it needs to be. I mean if they are going to make everyone behave properly and not be loud or disorderly or out of the acceptable norm, why do they sell alcohol on the plane or even in the terminal? I once put my heavy carry on bag onto the belt for the x-ray search in a way the technician didn't like, and when I asked if the x-rays would hurt the supplements in the bag she said no and ran it through the machine a couple extra times just out of spite with a smile and look on her face that said " I have the power to do this, deal with it " . small people in small jobs taking it out on others wherever they can. I know there are restrictions by necessity but I really dislike where the air travel industry has gone with it all and I choose not to fly any more. I'd rather drive or take the train but living in the Phoenix area the train is kind of out of the way. No Penn Station here with access to anywhere you want to go on the east coast. I would love for there to be a realistic alternative to conventional methods of travel. I'm thinking of changing my car over to running on some other kind of fuel... cooking oil maybe... You know that if we run out of oil, as we will some day, we will all be on bikes or horses or filling our cars with garbage of some kind to make them run. Might as well switch over to something cheaper now. Sarah G
